James Macintosh
James Macintosh (21 December 1830 – 16 April 1904) was a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. Macintosh was born in 1830 at Kilniver, south of Oban, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. He came to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1853 and took up farming on the Saltwater River. In 1855, he married Isabella M'Crae in 1855, with whom he was to have seven sons and one daughter. In the same year, he purchased a farm at Yangardook, and in 1867, he purchased the Oak Park farm in Rockbank Rockbank is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Melton local government area. Rockbank recorded a population of 2,583 at the 2021 census. Rockbank Post Office o .... Macintosh was a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from October 1859 to July 1861 for East Bourke. The Victorian Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Victoria in Australia; the upper house being the Victorian Legislative Council. Both houses sit at Parliament House in Spring Street, Melbourne. The presiding officer of the Legislative Assembly is the Speaker. There are presently 88 members of the Legislative Assembly elected from single-member divisions. Braybrook is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Maribyrnong local government area.
