James Love (Kentucky Politician)
James Love (May 12, 1795 – June 12, 1874) was a U.S. Representative from Kentucky. Born in Nelson County, Kentucky, Love attended the common schools in Bardstown, Kentucky. He volunteered at the age of 18 and served during the War of 1812. He studied law, and was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Barbourville, Kentucky. He served as member of the state house of representatives 1819–1831. Love was elected as an Anti-Jacksonian to the Twenty-third Congress (March 4, 1833 – March 3, 1835). He declined a renomination to the Twenty-fourth Congress. He moved to Texas in 1837 and settled in Galveston. He represented Galveston in the convention, which framed the constitution of 1846, and was the first judge of the Galveston district. Frederick Love
General Sir James Frederick Love (1789 – 13 January 1866) was a British Army officer who served as Lieutenant Governor of Jersey. Military career Love was commissioned into the 52nd Regiment of Foot in 1804 and took part in the retreat to Corunna and the Battle of Bussaco during the Peninsular War. He was wounded at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 and saved Bristol during the riots of 1831. He was appointed British resident at Zakynthos in 1835, Lieutenant Governor of Jersey in 1852 and General Officer Commanding South-Eastern District in 1856 before becoming Inspector-General of Infantry in 1857. Men Without Hats are a Canadian New wave music, new wave and synth-pop band, originally from Montreal, Quebec. Their music is characterized by the baritone voice of their lead singer Ivan Doroschuk, as well as their elaborate use of synthesizers and electronic processing. They achieved their greatest popularity in the 1980s with "The Safety Dance", a worldwide top ten hit (No. 3 in the United States), and "Pop Goes the World (song), Pop Goes the World". James Robert Beattie Love (1889–1947) was a Presbyterian clergyman who became a major authority on the Worrorra people of the Kimberley region of north Western Australia. Though quickly forgotten, it has been argued that he played as important a role in tending to the Aboriginal communities under his care as did more celebrated figures like John Flynn. Life Love was born on 16 June 1889 at Lislaird, County Tyrone in Ireland. His father emigrated to Australia when Love was several months old, and eventually settled in Strathalbyn, South Australia. He qualified as a teacher and was assigned to a post at the school in the small northern mining town of Leigh Creek, where his interest was aroused in ornithology. James Love (1721–1774) was the pseudonym of British poet, playwright and actor James Dance. He is best known for his poem ''Cricket: An Heroic Poem'' (1744). Life and work Son of George Dance the Elder, who worked as an architect and city surveyor, Love was himself a cricketer, being a member of Richmond Cricket Club. Richmond was a leading club in the 1740s and Love may have represented Surrey too. However, no details have survived of his playing career. He was also likely the founder of the Theatre Royal in Richmond upon Thames, which he managed from 1766 to 1773. In 1763, at Drury Lane in London, he played the role of Falstaff, for which he became best known as an actor, his authorial pseudonym serving also as his stage name. James Derek Love (born 22 April 1955) is a former English first-class cricketer, who played in three One Day Internationals for England in 1981. He played in 247 first-class cricket matches for Yorkshire from 1975 to 1989, as well as representing the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), Lincolnshire, the Minor Counties and Scotland. Life and career Love was tipped for stardom but like the player he most resembled, John Hampshire his Yorkshire teammate, he never quite fulfilled his potential on the national stage. A tall, fair haired middle order batsman, he was particularly strong on the front foot, and a powerful driver of the ball.
