James Likeness
James Likeness is an American graphic designer and musician from Florida, best known as the bass player and back-up vocalist for Copeland. Education Likeness earned an Associate of Arts degree in Visual Art from St. Petersburg College, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida State University. Career Likeness was a founding member of Copeland, an indie rock band formed in 2001. He performed with the band until 2007, and also designed much of the group's cover artwork. After leaving the band in 2007 to pursue a career in graphic design, Likeness went on to become the designer for indie label Drive-Thru Records in Santa Monica, California. During that time, Likeness reconnected with Jamie Tworkowski, founder of To Write Love on Her Arms, and began designing for the non-profit. To Write Love On Her Arms
To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) is an American nonprofit organization that aims to present hope for people struggling with addiction, depression, self-injury and thoughts of suicide, while also investing in treatment and recovery. Based in Melbourne, Florida, TWLOHA seeks to connect people to treatment centers, websites, books, support groups, helplines, and other resources. TWLOHA also encourages people to have honest conversations about mental health, and to live in community. The organization's name is a direct reference to the first person the organization helped to receive treatment for addiction and self-harm, a young addict who self-harmed by cutting the words "Fuck Up" on her arm with a razor blade. Angelas Dish
Angelas Dish is an Australian indie pop band from the Central Coast of New South Wales, formed in 2003. The four-piece currently consists of songwriting duo, brothers Michael and Joshua Harris, teamed up with bassist Peter Clarke, and drummer Christopher Allison. Michael Harris is the lead singer and most experienced musician of the group. There has been ongoing tension between the brothers, as Joshua has often lived in the shadow of his older sibling, as a result, Joshua Harris has made several solo albums. The Rocket Summer is the solo-project of Bryce Avary, a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and record producer based in Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas. He writes and produces every song on his records, and plays every instrument on them. He has released seven studio albums and several EPs. His fifth release in 2012, ''Life Will Write the Words'', was 58 on The ''Billboard'' 200 and 12 on '' Billboard'' Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums as well as 12 on Top Independent Albums. Anberlin
Anberlin is an American alternative rock band formed in Winter Haven, Florida in 2002. Since the beginning of 2007, the band consists of lead vocalist Stephen Christian, guitarists Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney, bassist Deon Rexroat, and drummer Nathan Young. Members of Anberlin originally formed a band under the name SaGoh 24/7 in 1998, releasing two studio albums before disbanding, with the members having a change in musical direction and name. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Drive-Thru Records
Drive-Thru Records was a California-based independent record label owned by siblings Richard and Stefanie Reines. The label was partially responsible for popularizing the pop-punk/emo merger sound of the early to mid-2000s. After facing financial obstacles in getting their bands' music into stores, Drive-Thru entered into a distribution deal with MCA/Universal. In 2003 MCA was dissolved and folded into Geffen Records. One of the clauses of that agreement was MCA/Geffen being able to sign any band of their choosing from Drive-Thru's roster. Once the Universal deal ended, they signed a contract with independent label Sanctuary Records. Starting with a new roster, the label garnered a top 10 platinum hit with "Here In Your Arms" by Hellogoodbye.
