''The Two Norries'' is a weekly podcast hosted by Timmy Long and James Leonard that focuses on trauma, mental health, addiction, prison systems, recovery and access to education. The podcast series was recorded and released between June 2020 and January 2024. The podcast in part resulted from Leonard's January 2020 interview on the Saturday night Tommy Tiernan Show broadcast on RTÉ Television. The podcast's title is an pun on 1980s comedy duo The Two Ronnies; both hosts are from the working class suburbs in the Churchfield, Hollyhill and Knocknaheeny areas of the north-side of Cork city, and ''Norry'' is a colloquial, often derogatory, word for Cork city north-siders. Beverly Cotton Manufactory was the first cotton mill built in America, and the largest cotton mill to be built during its era. It was built hoping for economic success, but reached a downturn due to technical limitations of the then early production process and limitations of the machines being used. Being the birthplace and testing grounds of the cotton milling industry at the time, it has been called the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. James Weston Leonard (20 April 1853 – 3 September 1909) was an influential politician of South Africa and Attorney-General of the Cape Colony. Early life and education Leonard was born in Somerset East and received his schooling at Gill College. He studied law at the University of Cape Town, graduating with an LL.B. in 1876. Career In the same year that he obtained his degree, he became a member of the Cape Bar and practised at the Cape until 1888. He served as Member of the Cape Legislative Assembly for Oudtshoorn (1880–88) and served as Attorney General in the governments of Cape Prime Ministers, Gordon Sprigg in 1881 and Thomas Scanlen from 1882 until 1884. In 1883, at the age of thirty, he received the status of QC. Jim Leonard (American Football, Born 1910)
James Raymond Leonard Sr. (February 14, 1910 – November 28, 1993) was an American football running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as the head coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1945. Leonard was a two sport star at the University of Notre Dame during the 1930s, both as a pitcher in baseball and a fullback in football. After Notre Dame he played for the Philadelphia Eagles for three seasons and was team captain in 1935 and 1936. He left the Eagles to restart the football program at Saint Francis College in Loretto, Pennsylvania in 1937. In 1942 he joined the NFL again as a staff coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers, then served as an assistant at the College of the Holy Cross in 1943 before returning to the Steelers as head coach during the 1945 campaign. James M. Leonard (February 17, 1950 ‒ November 3, 2014), also known as "Cyclone Jim", was an American professional storm chaser, photographer, and videographer. Intercepting severe weather including thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes and typhoons, he was among the earliest storm chasers. He was the first to photograph an anticyclonic tornado. Leonard was the son of Arthur H. Leonard Jr. and Marjorie Irene Leonard. He grew up in south Florida and in 1971 began chasing tropical cyclones in the United States and the Caribbean, as well as on Guam and Hawaii. He sometimes moved to Guam during typhoon season. He was considered a pre-eminent tropical cyclone chaser. Leonard began chasing thunderstorms in 1974 and traveled across the Great Plains as well as locally in Florida where sea breeze interactions and waterspouts are common in summer. James Michael Leonard (January 2, 1899 – February 2, 1979) was an American football player. Leonard was born in 1899 in Geneseo, New York, and attended Geneseo High School. He served in the military during World War I. He then enrolled at Colgate University and played college football at the tackle position for Colgate from 1920 to 1923. He was captain of the 1923 Colgate football team. Late in the 1923 season, Leonard joined the Rochester Jeffersons of the National Football League (NFL).
