James Kirkpatrick (politician)
James C. Kirkpatrick (June 15, 1905 – December 26, 1997) was an American politician from Missouri, USA. Early life He was born in Braymer, Missouri, graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He started his newspaper career at ''The Daily Star-Journal'' in Warrensburg and rose to be its editor. He went on to be editor of the '' Jefferson City News-Tribune''. He purchased weekly newspapers ''Windsor, Missouri Review'' and then the ''Lamar, Missouri Democrat''. Governor Forrest Smith asked him to write speeches for him. In 1960 he was defeated by Warren Hearnes in his first bid for Missouri Secretary of State. He won his first term in 1964. James Achilles Kirkpatrick
Lieutenant-Colonel James Achilles Kirkpatrick (1764 – 15 October 1805) was an East India Company officer and diplomat who served as the Resident at Hyderabad Deccan from 1798 until 1805. Kirkpatrick also ordered the construction of the Koti Residency in Hyderabad, which has since come to serve as a major tourist attraction. Biography James Achilles Kirkpatrick was born in 1764 at Fort St George, Madras. He replaced his brother William and arrived in Hyderabad in 1795 to assume the position of Resident, which had previously been held by his brother. During his initial few months in Hyderabad, James became enamoured with the Indo-Persian culture at the Nizam of Hyderabad's court, and substituted his European dress for Persian attire. Although a colonel in the Presidency armies, Kirkpatrick wore Mughal-style clothing at home, smoked a ''hookah'', chewed betelnut, enjoyed ''nautch'' parties, maintained a small harem in his ''zenanakhana''. Jim Kirkpatrick (Northern Ireland Politician)
Jim Kirkpatrick is a Unionist politician who has represented the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) three times and the Democratic Unionist Party twice. Kirkpatrick was first elected as a UUP member of the Northern Ireland Assembly for Belfast South in 1982. Three years later he was elected to Belfast City Council, representing the Balmoral electoral area, which covered the Lisburn, Malone and Donegal Road areas of the city. Kirkpatrick joined the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) in 1996 and lost his council seat in 1997, having moved from Balmoral to Laganbank. He subsequently rejoined the UUP and became chairman of the Drumbo branch in Lagan Valley. He was selected to contest the elections to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2003 by Lagan Valley UUP in a controversial selection meeting but polled fewer than 700 votes and was quickly eliminated. Sir James Kirkpatrick, 8th Baronet (22 March 1841 – 10 November 1899) was the 8th Kirkpatrick Baronet of Closeburn, Dumfriesshire. In his youth he was a keen sportsman, and helped organise the Scottish football team in the representative matches between March 1870 and February 1872. He also played in goal for the Wanderers when they won the FA Cup in 1878. Family and professional career Kirkpatrick was born in Canada, the second son of Sir Charles Sharpe Kirkpatrick, 6th Baronet and Helen Stuart Kirk. His father died in 1867 at which time his brother, Thomas, succeeded to the title; Thomas died childless in 1880 and the title passed to James. He was educated privately before joining the Admiralty as a clerk where he progressed to become Private Secretary to Lord George Hamilton, the First Lord of the Admiralty. James Alexander Paget Kirkpatrick (born March 29, 1991) is a Canadian field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for West Vancouver and the Canadian national team. He also played club hockey in France for Racing Club de France. International career Kirkpatrick represented Canada at the 2018 World Cup, where he played all four games. In June 2019, he was selected in the Canada squad for the 2019 Pan American Games. They won the silver medal as they lost 5–2 to Argentina in the final. James Nodwell Kirkpatrick was a Scottish professional footballer who played 40 games in the English Football League for Plymouth Argyle in the 1920s. An outside right, he also played for Dumfries and Torquay United. Career Kirkpatrick was born in Dumfries, and played for hometown club, Dumfries F.C., one of the three clubs that merged in 1919 to form Queen of the South. He moved to England in 1911 to play for Plymouth Argyle, then a Southern League club. He made 187 appearances for the club in all competitions either side of the First World War. Kirkpatrick played in Argyle's first game in the Football League, as the Southern League Division One clubs were absorbed to form the Football League Third Division for the 1920–21 season. Youth for Western Civilization (YWC) was a far right student group registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the United States. The group became a corporation in 2006 and began actively organizing in 2008. Kevin DeAnna founded the organization. Its honorary chairman was former Colorado US Representative Tom Tancredo. The group opposed what it viewed as "radical multiculturalism, socialism, and mass immigration" and a "poisonous and bigoted leftist campus climate". It also opposed affirmative action on college campuses. YWC was a more conservative and issue-specific alternative to groups such as the College Republicans (CRs), although many of its leaders and members were also involved in the CRs; the YWC was represented at the 2009 National CR Convention.
