James Hutchison (American Politician)
James L. "Hutch" Hutchison Sr. (born June 20, 1942) is an American politician. Hutchison served as the first full-time Mayor of Dover, Delaware from 1994 to 2004. Hutchison is a member of the Republican Party. However, Dover's mayoral office is officially nonpartisan. Hutchison, a native of Dover, graduated from Dover High School in 1961. He received an associate's degree in criminal justice from Delaware Technical & Community College in 1987. Hutchison served as the police chief of Dover prior to entering politics. He held Dover's at-large city council seat from 1993 to 1994. In 1994, Hutchison was elected Dover's first full-time mayor. He retired from office in 2004. In 2008, Hutchinson ran for the Delaware Senate in the 17th District, but lost the election to Democrat Brian Bushweller Brian J. Bushweller is an American politician. James Hutchison (Australian Politician)
James Hutchison (20 April 1859 – 6 December 1909) was an Australian politician and printer. He was a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP), serving in the South Australian House of Assembly (1898–1902) and Australian House of Representatives (1903–1909). He was an honorary minister in the First Fisher Ministry (1908–1909). Early life Hutchison was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, received a primary education and was eventually apprenticed as a compositor on the ''Daily Free Press'' and attended the mechanics' institute. He migrated to South Australia in 1884 with fellow worker, John McPherson and they found work on the ''South Australian Register''. In 1886, he married Mary Jane Trebilcock. In 1888, Hutchison and McPherson were sacked for taking part in a strike over their paper's opposition to union labor. Sir James Riley Holt Hutchison, 1st Baronet, DSO, TD, JP (10 April 1893 – 24 February 1979) was a British army officer, company director and politician. He was the son of a Scottish shipowner and spent his commercial life in the same field and as a director of shipbuilders, but fought in both World Wars during a long military career. He distinguished himself as the principal British liaison officer with the French Resistance during the Second World War in which he needed plastic surgery to disguise his appearance from the Germans; he was nicknamed the "Pimpernel of the Maquis". At the end of the Second World War he was elected as a Unionist Member of Parliament in Glasgow, and although the city was turning against his party he enjoyed a 14-year Parliamentary career. James Holmes Hutchison
James Holmes Hutchison (born 16 April 1912 – died 27 December 1987) was a Scottish paediatrician and Samson Gemmell Professor of Child Heath at Glasgow University from 1961 to 1977. From 1977 onwards he was Professor of Child Health at the University of Hong Kong. Friends knew him as Jim Hutchison. The book ''Hutchison's Paediatrics'' was named in his honour in 2012. Life Hutchison was born in Rangoon, the son of Alexander Hutchison and his wife Catherine Holmes. His family came to Scotland in 1920. He attended the High School in Glasgow then studied Medicine at Glasgow University graduating MB ChB in 1934. Hutchison served his internship in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow. Hutchison received his doctorate (MD) and the Bellahouston Medal in 1939.
