James Huckle
James Charles Huckle (born 17 September 1990) is an English sport shooter, who represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He won three gold medals at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in India and at the 2010 Commonwealth Games he won a total of four medals, two silver and two bronze. Since leaving competitive sport, Huckle has worked in the financial sector. Early life and education Huckle was born on 17 September 1990 in Harlow, Essex. He is one of triplets with a brother and sister the same age. He started shooting after his father bought a rifle to deal with a rat problem on his farm and at the age of 16 he saved to buy his first competition rifle. Harlow
Harlow is a large town and local government district located in the west of Essex, England. The men's 50 metre rifle three positions event at the 2012 Olympic Games took place on 6 August 2012 at the Royal Artillery Barracks. The event consisted of two rounds: a qualifier and a final. In the qualifier, each shooter fired 120 shots with a .22 Long Rifle The .22 Long Rifle or simply .22 LR or 22 (metric designation: 5.6×15mmR) is a long-established variety of .22 caliber rimfire ammunition originating from the United States. It is used in a wide range of rifles, pistols, revolvers, smo ... at 50 metres distance. 40 shots were fired each from the standing, kneeling, and prone positions. Scores for each shot were in increments of 1, with a maximum score of 10. The top 8 shooters in the qualifying round moved on to the final round. Malcolm Douglas Cooper, MBE, (20 December 1947 – 9 June 2001) was a British sport shooter and founder of Accuracy International. Sports shooting career He was the first shooter to win two consecutive gold medals in the Olympic 50 metre rifle three positions event, a feat which stood unrivalled for 28 years until the 2016 Rio Olympics, when Italian shooter Niccolò Campriani matched the record by successfully defending his three position title from the 2012 London Olympics. Jonathan Hammond is a British sport shooter, who has competed for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games and Great Britain at the Olympics. He is currently the head coach of the rifle team at the West Virginia University. Early life Hammond was born on 1 October 1980 in Aberdeen, Scotland. He began shooting at Ardvreck School in Crieff, Perthshire and at the age of 13 he won the Scottish under-18s championships. At the age of 17 he won the World Junior Championship in prone rifle. Neil Stirton (born 1981) is a British sport shooter. Career Stirton has held a number of Scottish and British shooting records. In the 2005 Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championships (the test event for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games), Stirton won Silver in the 50M Rifle Prone Pairs partnering with Martin Sinclair. Gagan Narang (born 6 May 1983) is an Indian sport shooter, supported by the Olympic Gold Quest. He won the bronze medal in the Men's 10 m Air Rifle Event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London with a final score of 701.1 on 30 July 2012.
