James Heather
James Heather (born 16 March 1980) is a British pianist and composer based in London. He releases music on ''Ninja Tune'' founders '' Coldcut''’s other record label Ahead Of Our Time. Heather released his debut album, ''Stories From Far Away On Piano'', on 18 August 2017. Heather followed up with the album ''Reworks'' in December 2018. Heather released his second studio album, ''Invisible Forces'', in 2022. As of June 2019, Heather curates and hosts the monthly Moving Sounds radio show on Soho Radio. His composition style, which Heather calls “Pulse Music”, puts his faith in human instinct and fluid dynamics over notation or a metronome dictating what might happen, evolving music through improvisations over time and gradually moulding what will be the final recorded arrangement. Lubomyr Melnyk (born December 22, 1948) is a composer and pianist of Ukrainian origin. Melnyk is noted for his ''continuous music'', a piano technique based on extremely rapid notes and complex note-series, usually with the sustain pedal held down to generate harmonic overtones and sympathetic resonances. "This is a completely-completely different piano universe from everything that has existed before", Melnyk explains. Music Melnyk links his piano technique to his national identity. "This music would not exist at all if I were not Ukrainian. Our distinguishing feature is that we tend to sacrifice ourselves. Ukrainians are self-sacrificing for things that are important to them".Melnyk plays rapid sequences thanks to his ability to play up to 19 notes per second with each hand. Joseph Kamaru, better known as KMRU, is an Ambient music, ambient musician. He was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and later relocated to Berlin, Germany. Musical career As a child, Kamaru played the guitar and sang in a choir. He first discovered electronic music in high school, after finding a copy of FL Studio on the school's computers. Kamaru is known for being prolific; he published almost twenty releases on Bandcamp between 2017 and 2021. Kamaru was part of an Ableton Live ad in 2019, in which he recorded Field recording, field recordings from a broken piano. His 2019 extended play ''Erased'' used piano, field recordings, and synthesized drums. In 2020, Kamaru released the albums ''Saal'', ''Peel'', ''Opaquer'' and ''Jar''.
