James Harris (linebacker)
James Harris (born June 2, 1982) is an American former professional arena football player who was a fullback/linebacker. Early life The son of Ronnie and Bertha Harris, James attended Thomson High School in Thomson, Georgia, where he lettered twice in two season of football. College career Harris continued his athletic career at Albany State University, where he lettered three seasons and led the team in tackles and sacks his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Professional career South Georgia Wildcats Started professional playing career with the South Georgia Wildcats of AF2 in 2006. He played the 2007 and 2008 season under VooDoo head football coach Derek Stingley. Harris was named to the All-AF2 team in 2008. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). Derek Stingley Jr. (born June 20, 2001) is an American football cornerback for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at LSU and was selected third overall by the Texans in the 2022 NFL Draft. Early years Stingley Jr. attended The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During his high school career he had 27 career interceptions. As a senior, he was named the Louisiana Gatorade Football Player of the Year. The Arena Football League (AFL) was a professional arena football league in the United States. The Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) was an indoor football league based in the Southern and Eastern United States. Thomson (originally called Slashes) is a city in McDuffie County, Georgia, McDuffie County, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States. The population was 6,778 at the 2010 census. Fullback (American Football)
A fullback (FB) is a position in the offensive backfield in gridiron football, and is one of the two running back positions along with the halfback. Fullbacks are typically larger than halfbacks and in most offensive schemes the fullback's duties are split among power running, pass catching, and blocking for both the quarterback and the other running back. Many great runners in the history of American football have been fullbacks, including Jim Brown, Marion Motley, Bronko Nagurski, Jim Taylor, Franco Harris, Larry Csonka, John Riggins, Christian Okoye, and Levi Jackson.
