James H. Randolph
James Henry Randolph (October 18, 1825 – August 22, 1900) was an American politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives for the 1st congressional district of Tennessee. Biography Born near Dandridge, Tennessee in Jefferson County on October 18, 1825, Randolph was the son of James Montgomery and Nancy Goan Randolph. He attended New Market Academy and graduated from Holston College in New Market, Tennessee. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1850, and commenced practice in Dandridge, Tennessee. He married Melinda Jane Robinson and they had three children, William H., Ralph Montgomery, and Townzella. Career Randolph was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives in 1857, 1858, 1859, 1860, and 1861. He served in the Tennessee Senate in 1865. William McFarland (Tennessee Politician)
William McFarland (September 15, 1821 – April 12, 1900) was an American politician who served in the United States House of Representatives from 1875 to 1877, representing the 1st congressional district of Tennessee. He is one of only two Democrats to have won this district's seat since the Civil War. McFarland also served as a state court judge in 1869, and as mayor of Morristown, Tennessee, from 1882 to 1885. A Southern Unionist, he was a member of the Jefferson County delegation at the pro-Union East Tennessee Convention in 1861. Burial, also known as interment or inhumation, is a method of final disposition whereby a dead body is placed into the ground, sometimes with objects. This is usually accomplished by excavating a pit or trench, placing the deceased and objects in it, and covering it over. A funeral is a ceremony that accompanies the final disposition. Cocke County is a county on the eastern border of the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2010 census, the population was 35,662. Its county seat is Newport. Cocke County comprises the Newport, TN Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is part of the Knoxville- Morristown-Sevierville, Tennessee Combined Statistical Area.
