James Gallagher (Australian Footballer)
James Gallagher (born 17 November 1979) is an Australian rules footballer who played with Adelaide in the Australian Football League (AFL). Gallagher, a Sacred Heart College alumni, was the third generation of his family to play for Norwood. Both his grandfather Sam Gallagher, and uncle Phil Gallagher, played for Norwood and South Australia. A midfielder, he was promoted from the Adelaide Rookie List in 2001 and played four seasons for the club, often coming off the bench. He has gone on to play over 200 games for Norwood and has been club captain since 2007. He won back to back best and fairest awards in 2007 and 2008. Norwood Football Club, nicknamed the Redlegs, is an Australian rules football club competing in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) in the state of South Australia. Its home ground is Coopers Stadium (Norwood Oval), which is often referred to as "The Parade". The Adelaide Crows (officially the Adelaide Football Club) are a professional Australian rules football team based in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1990. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Best And Fairest
In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. In the Australian Football League (AFL), the Brownlow Medal is awarded to the player who, provided he has not been suspended during the season, receives the most votes from the umpires for being the Fairest and Best player in games during the home and away season. Laura Von Bertouch
Laura von Bertouch (born 4 December 1980) is a former Australia netball international. Bertouch was a member of the Australia team that won the gold medal at the 2007 World Netball Championships. At club level, Bertouch played for Adelaide Thunderbirds, mainly during the Commonwealth Bank Trophy era. She captained Thunderbirds between 2004 and 2007. Her younger sister, Natalie von Bertouch, is also a former netball player. The two sisters were team mates with both Thunderbirds and Australia.
