James E. Taylor High School
James E. Taylor High School (THS) is a public high school in unincorporated area, unincorporated Harris County, Texas, in Greater Katy. The school, in Nottingham Country, which serves grades 9 through 12, is part of Katy Independent School District. Established in 1979, Taylor High School is a National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, Blue Ribbon School and is ranked among the best in graduation rates, SAT scores, college admittance, and Advanced Placement Program, AP scores in the nation. In 2013 the school was ranked the 536th "Best High School in the Nation" by Newsweek Magazine. Katy, Texas
Katy is a city in the U.S. state of Texas within the Greater Katy area, itself forming the western part of the Greater Houston metropolitan area. Homes and businesses may have Katy postal addresses without being in the City of Katy. The city of Katy is approximately centered at the tripoint of Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller counties. Vincent Mark "Sparky" Matejka is an American rock guitarist. He joined Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2006, replacing Hughie Thomasson who had left to reform Outlaws. National Science Bowl
The National Science Bowl (NSB) is a high school and middle school science knowledge competition, using a quiz bowl format, held in the United States. A buzzer system similar to those seen on popular television game shows is used to signal an answer. The competition has been organized and sponsored by the United States Department of Energy since its inception in 1991. Subject areas During the competition, each question has a category and the high school and middle schools have a different set of categories for their questions. The 2020-21 high school categories were Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Energy, Mathematics, and Physics. Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States and Canada created by the College Board which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities may grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations.
