James Daughton
James Daughton (born June 27, 1950) is an American film and television actor who is best known for his role as Gregory ''(Greg)'' Marmalard in ''National Lampoon's Animal House'' (1978). Daughton's portrayal of ''Greg Marmalard'' has become iconic in American popular culture as the quintessential old money, preppy, WASP snob. Raised in San Diego, California, Daughton had roles early in his career on ''Marcus Welby, MD'', ''Room 222'', ''Planet of the Apes (TV Series)'' (as Mikal in the episode "The Tyrant"), ''Happy Days'' (as the man who challenges Fonzie to water ski over the shark), and 1972 western '' The Revengers'' (as William Holden's son). He appeared in the television series ''Barnaby Jones'', playing a character named Willie Grand in the April 1973 episode "The Murdering Class". ''Barnaby Jones'' is an American detective television series starring Buddy Ebsen as a formerly retired investigator and Lee Meriwether as his widowed daughter-in-law, who run a private detective firm in Los Angeles, California. The show was originally introduced as a midseason replacement on the CBS network and ran from 1973 to 1980. Halfway through the series' run, Mark Shera was added to the cast as a much younger cousin of Ebsen's character, who eventually joined the firm. ''Barnaby Jones'' was produced by QM Productions (with Woodruff Productions in the final two seasons). It had the second-longest QM series run (seven and a half seasons), following the nine years of ''The FBI''. ''Mortuary Academy'' is a 1988 American comedy film starring Christopher Atkins and Perry Lang. The film was released on DVD in full screen with no extras in 2005. Plot summary Sam (Christopher Atkins) and Max Grimm (Perry Lang) inherit the Grimm Mortuary and Academy from their uncle, but in order to obtain it, they must graduate from the mortician's course. The current owner is Dr. Paul Truscott (Paul Bartel), who tells the Grimm brothers that if they fail to graduate, the ownership of the business will stay with him.
