James Cunningham (Australian Politician)
James Cunningham (28 December 18794 July 1943) was an Australian politician. He was a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and began his political career in the Parliament of Western Australia, serving as a state government minister. He later served as a Senator for Western Australia from 1937 until his death in 1943, including as President of the Senate from 1941. Early life Cunningham was born in Wirrabara, South Australia to parents who could not write, and he received little formal education there. When he was about 20 he moved to Western Australia to become a goldminer. He worked at Norseman and then at Boulder. He contracted the disease silicosis through this work. State politics Cunningham was secretary of the Federated Miners' Union before his election to the Western Australian Legislative Council in 1916 as a Labor member. James Cunningham (born 1973) is a New Zealand film director and animator. He has directed twelve award-winning short films. He is based in Auckland, New Zealand. Career James was senior lecturer at Media Design School, an animation and visual effects new media school in New Zealand, where he produced and directed short films with his students. Prior to that he was head of 3D at Digital Post working on visual effects for local and international TV commercials, and he was a technical director on The Lord of the Rings at Weta Digital. He is the host of Food Network Canada's and Cooking Channel US's '' Eat St.'', a TV show about North American street food that debuted in 2011. He initially auditioned for another show before being offered the job of hosting Eat St. Other television appearances include "Last Comic Standing" and "Just for Laughs." James Cunningham (15 August 1910 – 10 July 1974) was an English prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle from 1958 to 1974. Early life Born in Rusholme, Manchester on 15 August 1910, the son of Patrick William Cunningham and Elizabeth Maye, his father was a native of Sligo. The family owned and operated a laundry business at Nelson Street, Rusholme. Cunningham was educated at St Edward's Catholic Elementary School, and St Joseph's College, Upholland where he was ordained to the priesthood on 22 May 1937. James Cunningham, 14th Earl of Glencairn (1 June 174930 January 1791) was a Scottish nobleman, soldier and patron of Robert Burns. Biography James the second son of William, 13th Earl, was born in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire. On the death ''vida patris'' of his elder brother William in 1768, he became Lord Kilmaurs; he succeeded to the Earldom, while on a tour of Norway, Lapland and Sweden, when his father died on 9 September 1775. A Captain in the Western Fencibles Regiment from 1778, he served as one of the 16 representative peers from 1780 to 1784 and supported Fox's India Bill in 1783.
