James Gervé Conroy (April 12, 1836 – January 28, 1915) was an Ireland, Irish-born lawyer, judge and political figure in Colony of Newfoundland, Newfoundland. He represented Ferryland on the Irish Shore in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 1874 to 1880 as an Anti-Confederated, in the second term as an anti-confederated Liberal; he helped lead the opposition to William Vallance Whiteway's administration. The Squad, nicknamed the Twelve Apostles, was an Irish Republican Army (IRA) unit founded by Michael Collins to counter British intelligence efforts during the Irish War of Independence, mainly by means of assassination. Jim Conroy (Canadian Football)
James Conroy (October 18, 1936 – October 3, 2011) was a Canadian Football League linebacker for the Ottawa Rough Riders (1960–1967) and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1968). He was a CFL All-Star for three seasons. After playing college football and baseball at the University of Southern California, Jim Conroy joined the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1960, the year they won the 48th Grey Cup of 1960, remaining with the same team until 1967. He was mainly used as a linebacker, intercepting 10 balls, but also as a reserve running back, reaching a maximum of 12 carries in 1967, as well as a punt and kick returner. In addition, he was the Rough Riders' Punter (football), punter from 1960 to 1962. He spent his final year as a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. References

Timothy James Conroy (born April 3, 1960) is an American former professional baseball player and scout. He played in Major League Baseball as a left-handed pitcher for the Oakland Athletics (1978 and 1982–85) and St. Louis Cardinals (1986–87). He was the first person born in the 1960s to make his MLB debut.
