James Brandon (1865 – 1942) was a Scottish footballer who played in the Football League for Bootle and Preston North End. The Peace Companies ( ar, سرايا السلام, or Saraya al Salam) are an Iraqi armed group linked to Iraq's Shia community. They are a 2014 revival of the Mahdi Army ( ''Jaysh al-Mahdī'') that was created by the Iraqi Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr in June 2003 and disbanded in 2008. The Mahdi Army rose to international prominence on April 4th, 2004, when it spearheaded the first major armed confrontation against the US forces in Iraq from the Shia community. This concerned an uprising that followed the ban of al-Sadr's newspaper and his subsequent attempted arrest, lasting until a truce on June 6. The truce was followed by moves to disband the group and transform al-Sadr's movement into a political party to take part in the 2005 elections; Muqtada al-Sadr ordered fighters of the Mahdi army to cease fire unless attacked first. James Brandon (colonel)
James Brandon (1734–1790) was an early pioneer in Rowan County, North Carolina and an officer in the North Carolina militia during the American Revolution. He commanded the 2nd Rowan County Regiment from 1782-1783. Life story James Brandon was born in 1734, the son of John Brandon, Jr. and Maley Cathey. In 1754, he married Elizabeth Armstrong in Rowan County, North Carolina. He obtained Granville land grants on the north side of Fourth Creek in Rowan County in 1760 and 1764 and was a slave owner. According to his will he had the following children: William Brandon, Benjamin Brandon, John Brandon, Jane (Brandon) Wilson, Abel Brandon, Armstrong Brandon, He served on the Rowan County Committee of Safety, before the Revolutionary War. He died after the war in 1790 in Rowan County and was buried at the Thyatira Presbyterian Church Cemetery. James Rodger Brandon
James Rodger Brandon (1927 – 19 September 2015) was an American academic who was a professor of Asian theater specializing in Kabuki and Sanskrit theater at the University of Hawaii. He was a member of the generation of scholars who first brought Asian theater to English-speaking audiences in the postwar period, translating dozens of plays and directing many performances, some of which toured widely throughout the United States. Biography Brandon was born in Mazomanie, Wisconsin. He was drafted into the military in 1950 and was stationed in Japan and Korea during the Korean War. It was with only two days left before his tour ended and he returned to the United States that he saw his first kabuki performance. It was this performance that awakened his interest in Asian theater. He returned to the University of Wisconsin–Madison to take a PhD in theater on the G.I. Bill in 1955. Jamie Brandon (born 5 February 1998) is a Scottish footballer who plays for Livingston as a right-back, midfielder or right winger. Brandon has previously played for Heart of Midlothian and Greenock Morton. Career Heart of Midlothian Brandon began his football career with Rangers at the age of 6, before signing his first professional contract in May 2015.
