James A. Rutkowski
James A. Rutkowski (born April 6, 1942) is a retired Americans, American attorney and Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician. He served 27 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly (1971–1997) representing southwest Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, Milwaukee County. Biography Rutkowski was born on April 6, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Bay View High School (Milwaukee, WI), Bay View High School and Marquette University. In 1966, Rutkowski joined the United States Army Reserve. After initially serving in the United States Army Security Agency, he transferred to the Judge Advocate General's Corps, United States Army, Judge Advocate General's Corps in 1969. He remained with the Reserve until 1972. Additionally, Rutkowksi was a member of the faculty at Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. The United States Army Security Agency (ASA) was the United States Army's signals intelligence branch from 1945 to 1976. The Latin motto of the Army Security Agency was ''Semper Vigiles'' (Vigilant Always), which echoes the declaration, often mistakenly attributed to Thomas Jefferson, that " The price of liberty is eternal vigilance." Hales Corners is a village in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 7,692 at the 2010 census. History The land in the area that would eventually encompass the Village was first claimed as French, then British, and eventually as the Northwest Territory of the United States in 1783. It was the land of the Potawatomi Indians until they were forced to move from their land in 1838. They were the dominant tribe in southeast Wisconsin with large villages. Like the Europeans that arrived later, they planted crops, but theirs were beans, squash, and corn. By engaging in the fur trade, the Potawatomi learned to speak French and English, and they eventually intermarried with the Europeans. Bay View High School (BVMHS), previously Bay View Middle/High School (BVHS), is a high school in Bay View, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is part of the Milwaukee Public Schools. Academic specialties include law, mathematics, science, and construction. History Bay View High School opened in September 1914 with 150 students and 7 teachers. The school was then a one-building barracks without central heating. With German teacher Gustav Fritsche as principal, the barracks grew to a bungalow, and in 1922 classes were held in a new school, still in use today. The four-story brick building was a vast improvement over the wooden barracks.
