Jameel Watkins
Jameel Sharif Watkins (born August 2, 1977) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Wellington Saints of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas during the late 1990s, earning a reputation for his defensive proficiency and shot-blocking skills. His professional career has taken all around the world, playing with over 20 different teams. In addition, between 2000 and 2007, Watkins had four NBA training camp/preseason stints, but never played in a regular season game for any of them. High school and college career Born in Brooklyn, New York, Watkins led Paul Robeson High School to an NYC championship and was earned honorable mention All-America honors by ''USA Today''. Fujian SBS Xunxing Sturgeons (Simplified Chinese: 福建SBS浔兴鲟) or Fujian Xunxing or Fujian SBS are a Chinese professional men's basketball team in the Chinese Basketball Association, based in Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Fujian. The "SBS" reflects corporate sponsorship from the Jinjiang-based Fujian SBS Zipper Science and Technology Corporation. Unlike all the other teams in the CBA, the team originally had no English–friendly animal–type nickname. They have since begun using the name Sturgeons. The Wellington Saints are a New Zealand basketball team based in Wellington. The Saints compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at TSB Bank Arena. Team history The Wellington Saints were founded in 1981. In 1982, the Exchequer Saints won the second division title, which promoted them to the first division for the 1983 season. The Saints went on to play in six straight championship games upon joining the NBL, winning titles in 1984, 1985, 1987 and 1988. Levanga Hokkaido is a Japanese professional basketball team based in the city of Sapporo on the island of Hokkaido.
