Jamaluddin School
Jamaluddin School is a government run school located in Galolhu district, Malé, Maldives. It is the second Primary School to be opened in Malé. The school has participated and won in many interschool competitions. History The foundation of the school was laid down on 11 November 1979 by President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Jamaluddin was inaugurated on 16 February 1985 by President Gayoom. The school is named after religious scholar Mohamed Jamaluddin or Vaadhoo Dhanna Kaleyfaanu. It was opened as Jamaluddin Primary School. In 1985, the school officially began with more than 800 students and 33 teachers including the Principal, Senior Assistant Principal and a Supervisor. During its inception, it only had one session, grades 1-2 and a class for handicapped children. Grade 3 was later introduced in 1986 and the school had three working sessions, grade 4 was started in 1987. Malé
Malé (, ; dv, މާލެ) is the capital and most populous city of the Maldives. With a population of 252,768 and an area of , it is also one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The city is geographically located at the southern edge of North Malé Atoll ( Kaafu Atoll). Administratively, the city consists of a central island, an airport island, and four other islands governed by the Malé City Council. Kaafu Atoll
Kaafu Atoll is the code name given to an administrative division in the Republic of Maldives which consists of the geographical atolls of Kaashidhoo Island, Gaafaru, North Malé Atoll and South Malé Atoll. As the two Malé Atolls are the main islands of the administrative district, the entire Kaafu Atoll administrative division is officially named Malé Atoll or Malé Atolhu in the Maldivian language, Dhivehi. The capital of the administrative division is Thulusdhoo. Although Malé, the capital of the Maldives, and the adjacent islands of Vilingili, Hulhule and Hulhumalé, are geographically part of the North Malé Atoll, they do not form part of the Kaafu Atoll administrative division and are a separate administrative division. The Ministry of Education is the Maldivian government sector responsible for education and providing public schools with funding necessary for the education institution. Maldivian, also known by its endonym Dhivehi or Divehi ( ; '' dv, links=no, ދިވެހި'', ), is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the South Asian island country of Maldives and on Minicoy Island, Lakshadweep, union territory of India. The Maldivian language has notable dialects. The standard dialect is that of the capital city, Malé. The greatest dialectal variation is from the southern atolls Huvadu, Addu and Fuvahmulah of Maldives. Each of those atolls has its own dialect closely related to each other but very different from the northern atolls. The southern atoll dialects are so distinct that those only speaking northern dialects cannot understand them. Raajje TV
Raajje TV is an television channel based in the Maldives, known for its news coverage, entertainment programs, and cultural content. Maumoon Abdul Gayoom
Maumoon Abdul Gayoom (; dv, މައުމޫން ޢަބްދުލް ޤައްޔޫމް; born 29 December 1937) is a Maldivian politician and an Islamic scholar who served as the President of Maldives from 1978 to 2008. After serving as Minister of Transport, he was nominated as President by the Majlis (Parliament) of the Maldives and succeeded Ibrahim Nasir in 1978. He was defeated in the October 2008 presidential election. In opposition, he continued to serve as leader of the Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party until January 2010, when he retired from active politics.
