Jamal Uddin Ahmad
Jamal Uddin Ahmad (c. 1929 – 3 January 2015) was a Bangladeshi politician and accountant. He served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Bangladesh from 1977 until 1982. He also served as the former President of the South Asian Federation of Accountants, as well as the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh for two terms. In 1954, Ahmad received a master's degree in commerce from the University of Dhaka. Ahmad died at his home in the Baridhara neighborhood in Dhaka at approximately 10p.m. on 3 January 2015, at the age of 85. The University of Dhaka (also known as Dhaka University, or DU) is a public research university located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the oldest university in Bangladesh. The university opened its doors to students on July 1st 1921. Currently it is the largest public research university in Bangladesh, with a student body of 46,150 and a faculty of 1,992. Nawab Bahadur Sir Khwaja Salimullah, who played a pioneering role in establishing the university in Dhaka, donated 600 acres of land from his estate for this purpose. Chittagong District
Chittagong District, renamed the Chattogram District, is a district located in the south-eastern region of Bangladesh. It is a part of the Chattogram Division. The port city of Chattogram, which is the second largest city in Bangladesh, is located within this district. History Because of the natural harbour, Chattogram had been an important location for trade, drawing Arab traders as early as the 9th century CE. The region fell under the rule of kings from Arakan in the 16th and 17th centuries, but later, the Mughal Army under Shaista Khan conquered Chattogram. During the 17th century, the region also faced a lot of attacks by Portuguese pirates. The Mughals established Chattogram as a district in 1666. Fatikchhari Upazila
Fatikchari( bn, ফটিকছড়ি, Fôṭikchhôṛi) is an upazila of Chattogram District in Chattogram Division, Bangladesh. History The Fatikchhari Jami al-Uloom Fazil Madrasa and the Jamia Arabia Nasirul Islam Madrasa were founded in 1904 and 1912 respectively, transforming Fatikchhari into an important site of spiritual activities in the country. During the British colonial period, a thana was formed in Fatikchhari in 1918. In 1928, the Nanupur Sunnia Madrasa was established. During the Bangladesh Liberation War, a training camp was founded in Fatikchhari by Mustafizur Rahman Siddiqi, Ziaur Rahman and Zonal Commander Mirza Abu Mansur in March 1971.
