Jamal Olasewere
Jamal Olasewere (born September 16, 1991) is a Nigerian American professional basketball player for Pistoia Basket 2000 of the Italian Serie A2. He completed his college career at Long Island University, where he was an All-American and Conference Player of the Year. College career Olasewere, a 6'7" forward from Silver Spring, Maryland attended Springbrook High School and chose Long Island for college. There, he was a four-year starter and led the Blackbirds to three consecutive NCAA tournament bids from 2011 to 2013. As a senior, Olasewere averaged 18.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game and was named Northeast Conference player of the year and an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press. For his career, Olasewere scored a school-record 1,871 points and collected 964 rebounds. Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Year
The Northeast Conference (NEC) Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an annual college basketball award given to the Northeast Conference's most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1982–83 season, when the league was known as the ECAC Metro Conference. The most well-recognized NEC Player of the Year is Marist's Rik Smits, who won the award in 1987 and 1988. The LIU Sharks men's basketball team represents Long Island University in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They play their home games at their Brooklyn Campus in the Steinberg Wellness Center and Barclays Center, formerly known as the Wellness, Recreation & Athletics Center, and are members of the Northeast Conference. Nigerian National Basketball Team
The Nigeria national basketball team represents Nigeria in men's international basketball and it is overseen by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). AfroBasket 2015 was the 28th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa.
