Jamal Campbell (comics)
Jamal Campbell (born October 15, 1993) is a professional Canadian football offensive lineman who is a free agent. He most recently played for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He won his first Grey Cup championship in 2017 with the Toronto Argonauts. University career Campbell played CIS football for the York Lions from 2012 to 2015. Professional career Toronto Argonauts Campbell was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the third round, 22nd overall, in the 2016 CFL Draft and signed with the club on May 24, 2016. He made the team out of training camp and played in eight games in his rookie year in 2016. In 2017, he dressed as a backup offensive lineman for the team's first 15 games of the regular season before being placed of the Argonauts' injured list. 2019 Toronto Argonauts Season
The 2019 Toronto Argonauts season was the 62nd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 147th season overall. The Argonauts finished with a 4–14 record, matching their win–loss record from a year prior, and did not qualify for the playoffs for the second consecutive season. This was the third season with Jim Popp as general manager and first for new head coach Corey Chamblin who replaced Marc Trestman following a disappointing campaign in 2018 (failing to meet expectations following a Grey Cup victory in 2017). 2023 Calgary Stampeders Season
The 2023 Calgary Stampeders season was the 65th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 78th overall. It was Dave Dickenson's seventh season as head coach and first as general manager following his promotion. The Stampeders managed to qualify for the playoffs for an 18th straight season after the team defeated the BC Lions in week 20 and the Saskatchewan Roughriders lost in the same week. This was the first time Calgary had a losing regular season record since the 2007 season. 2020 CFL Season
The 2020 CFL season would have been the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it would have been the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League. It was originally scheduled to begin on June 11; on April 7, the start of the season was delayed to begin no sooner than July due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The CFL planned to obtain financial assistance from the federal government. In May, the CFL delayed the season to no sooner than September, and announced that the Grey Cup was to be played as a home advantage game rather than as a neutral site game in Regina, Saskatchewan, as originally planned.
