Jamal Brooks
Jamal Benjamin Brooks (born November 9, 1976) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams. He played college football at Hampton University. Early years Brooks attended Granada Hills Charter High School, before moving on to Pasadena City College in 1994. He transferred to Hampton University during his freshman season. In his first year at Hampton, he collected 35 tackles and one sack. As a sophomore, he tallied 46 tackles and one forced fumble. As a junior, he had 26 tackles (4 for loss) and 2 fumble recoveries. As a senior middle linebacker, he posted 75 tackles (3 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and one interception. He finished his college career with 184 tackles (86 solo) and was named team captain in his last two years. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. Alshermond Glendale Singleton (born August 7, 1975) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Temple University. Early years Singleton attended Irvington High School (New Jersey), Irvington High School. The 2003 NFL season was the 84th regular season of the National Football League (NFL). Regular-season play was held from September 4, 2003, to December 28, 2003. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional American football team based in Jacksonville, Florida. The 2002 NFL season was the 83rd regular season of the National Football League. The league went back to an even number of teams with the addition of the Houston Texans; the league has remained static with 32 teams since. The clubs were realigned into eight divisions, four teams in each. Also, the Chicago Bears played their home games in 2002 in Champaign, Illinois at Memorial Stadium because of the reconstruction of Soldier Field. The NFL title was won by Tampa Bay when they defeated Oakland in Super Bowl XXXVII, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California on January 26, 2003. William Dexter Coakley (born October 20, 1972) is a former American football linebacker who played ten seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was a third round draft choice of the Dallas Cowboys in the 1997 NFL Draft, out of Division I-AA school Appalachian State. Coakley was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011 making him Appalachian State's first inductee. Early years Coakley graduated from Wando High School, where he earned four letters in football. The 2001 NFL season was the 82nd regular season of the National Football League (NFL), and the first season of the 21st century. The league permanently moved the first week of the regular season to the weekend following Labor Day. In the wake of the September 11 attacks, the NFL's week 2 games (September 16 and 17) were postponed and rescheduled to the weekend of January 6 and 7, 2002.
