Jakob Bhula
Jakob Jarrod Naran Patel Bhula (born 12 December 1999) is a New Zealand cricketer. Bhula was born to an Indian Gujarati family on 12 December 1999 in Wellington, New Zealand. Career He made his List A debut for Wellington in the 2018–19 Ford Trophy on 24 October 2018. Prior to his List A debut, he was named in New Zealand's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. During the tournament, he scored 180 runs against Kenya, the highest individual total in all Under-19 World Cups. 2018–19 Plunket Shield Season
The 2018–19 Plunket Shield was the 90th season of the Plunket Shield, the domestic first-class cricket competition in New Zealand. It took place between October 2018 and March 2019. Unlike the previous edition of the competition, the tournament featured eight rounds of matches, instead of ten. Central Districts were the defending champions. Up to eleven international players, including New Zealand's captain Kane Williamson, were available for the opening round of the tournament. In the opening round of fixtures, in the match between Central Districts and Canterbury, both teams declared one of their innings for no runs, in a rain-affected match, to ensure that a result was possible. 2021–22 Super Smash (men's Cricket)
The 2021–22 Dream11 Men's Super Smash (named after the competition's sponsor Dream11) was the seventeenth season of the Men's Super Smash Twenty20 cricket tournament that was played in New Zealand. In July 2021, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) named all the squads for the domestic teams ahead of the 2021–22 season, and confirmed that the matches would mainly be played at the weekend. On 27 October 2021, NZC confirmed the full fixtures for the tournament. The Wellington Firebirds were the defending champions. Prior to the tournament, the Northern Districts T20 team, previously known as the Northern Knights, was rebranded as the Northern Brave. Northern Brave finished top of the group stage to secure a place in the final of the tournament at their home ground of Seddon Park in Hamilton. Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. Off spin is a type of finger spin bowling in cricket. A bowler who uses this technique is called an off spinner. Off spinners are right arm, right-handed spin bowling, spin bowlers who use their fingers to spin the ball. Their normal Delivery (cricket), delivery is an off break, which spins from left to right (from the bowler's perspective) when the ball bounces on the cricket pitch, pitch. The Kenya national under-19 cricket team represents the Republic of Kenya in international under-19 cricket. Kenya has qualified for the ICC Under-19 World Cup on four occasions – 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2018. 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament that was held in New Zealand from 13 January to 3 February 2018. It was the twelfth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the third to be held in New Zealand (after the 2002 and 2010 events). New Zealand was the first country to host the event three times. The opening ceremony took place on 7 January 2018. The West Indies were the defending champions. However, they failed to defend their title, after losing their first two group fixtures. Following the group stage fixtures, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa had all qualified for the Super League quarter-final stage of the tournament.
