Jake Sanchez
Jacob Sanchez (born August 19, 1989) is a Mexican-American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization. Career Early years Sanchez attended Brawley Union High School in Brawley, California, Imperial Valley College, and Iowa Wesleyan University. He was not drafted by a Major League Baseball organization out of college in 2012. He pitched in independent league baseball, playing in the Liga Norte de México and for the Joliet Slammers of the Frontier League. Chicago White Sox On June 10, 2013, Sanchez signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox organization. Sanchez pitched for the Great Falls Voyagers of the Rookie-level Pioneer League, and was named the league's pitcher of the year. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Pioneer League is an independent baseball league that operates in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States. Its teams are not directly affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB). The Mexican Pacific League (), known as Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico for sponsorship reasons or simply LMP for its acronym in Spanish, is a professional baseball winter league based in Northern Mexico. The Águilas de Mexicali ( en, Mexicali Eagles) are a professional baseball based in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. They compete in the Mexican Pacific League (LMP), a Mexican winter league. Texas League
The Texas League is a Minor League Baseball league which has operated in the South Central United States since 1902. It is classified as a Double-A league. Despite the league's name, only its five South Division teams are actually based in the state of Texas; the five North Division teams are located in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The league was founded in 1888 and ran through 1892. It was called the Texas Association in 1895, the Texas-Southern League in 1896, and again as the Texas League from 1897 to 1899. The Midland RockHounds are a Minor League Baseball team based in Midland, Texas. The team, which plays in the Texas League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics major league club. Stockton Ports
The Stockton Ports are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. They are located in Stockton, California, and are named for the city's seaport. The team plays its home games at Banner Island Ballpark which opened in 2005 and seats over 5,000 people. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics and Chicago White Sox from 2011 through 2014.
