''Sinhasan'' (Marathi: Throne) is 1979 Indian Marathi-language political drama film directed by Jabbar Patel and written by journalist Arun Sadhoo. The film is based on two novels - one of the same name and the other named ''Mumbai Dinank'' by writer and freelance journalist Arun Sadhu. The cast of the film included Nilu Phule, Arun Sarnaik, Shriram Lagoo, Mohan Agashe, Reema Lagoo, Nana Patekar, Usha Nadkarni, Datta Bhatt and Satish Dubhashi. Dr. Jabbar Patel (born 23 June 1942, Pandharpur) is a former paediatrician and a Marathi-language theatre and film director of India. His production of the play Vijay Tendulkar's play Ghashiram Kotwal, in 1973 is considered a classic in Modern Indian Theatre. ''Sarvasakshi'' () is a 1978 Indian Marathi-language film directed by Ramdas Phutane with Smita Patil, Anjali Paigankar and Jairam Hardikar in the lead roles. The black-and-white film was a debut feature of Phutane, a former journalist, art teacher, poet and actor, inaugurating New Indian Cinema productions in Marathi. The film deals with the theme of superstitions of the old India colliding with the medical advancements of the modern world. Plot Ravi, a progressive schoolteacher in a small village helps fight an epidemic by getting his students inoculated. He incurs the wrath of local witchdoctor in the process.
