Jaime Parada
José Jaime Parada Hoyl (born November 2, 1977 in Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean gay rights activist and politician who became the first openly gay person elected to public office in Chile. He serves as the spokesperson for Movimiento de Integración y Liberación Homosexual, the leading Chilean gay rights organization. He was elected councilman for his home commune of Providencia for the 2012–2016 term. Biography Parada was born in the commune of Las Condes. His father is a Panamanian-Chilean veterinarian and his mother is a homemaker. He completed his secondary schooling at the Instituto Presidente Errázuriz, a state-subsidized Catholic boys school. Providencia, Chile
Providencia (, Spanish: "providence") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. Part of Greater Santiago, it is bordered by the communes of Santiago to the west, Recoleta to the northwest, Las Condes and Vitacura to the northeast, La Reina to the east, and Ñuñoa to the south. It belongs to the Northeastern zone of Santiago de Chile. Providencia is home to a large upper middle to upper-class population and it holds the region's highest percentage of population over 60 (22%). Zuliana Araya
Zuliana Alejandra Araya Gutiérrez (born August 13, 1964) is a Chilean politician and transgender rights activist. She has served as a Valparaíso city council, and president of the Afrodita union. She is Chile's first trans city council member. History Araya's political career began in 2001 when she assumed the regional presidency and a founder of the Afrodita union, the first transgender union group in Chile. She ran for Valparaíso city council for the first time in 2004. She is a member of the Party for Democracy (PPD). Marco Antonio Enríquez-Ominami Gumucio (born 12 June 1973) is a Chilean-French, filmmaker, politician, and perennial candidate. From 2006 to 2010 he was a Socialist Party deputy in Chile's lower chamber. In 2009 he quit the party and ran for President of the Republic as independent, where he finished third with 20% of the vote.
