Jagat Narayan
Pandit Jagat Narain Mulla (14 December 1864 — 11 December 1938) was a prominent lawyer and public prosecutor in the United Provinces of British India, United Provinces during the British Raj. He is noted for contesting the Kakori conspiracy case on behalf of the British. He was a public prosecutor. Early and personal life Jagat Narain Mulla was born to Pandit Kali Sahay Mulla who was in government service in the United Provinces of British India, United Provinces. He studied law from Agra University and started his legal practice in Lucknow. He was close to many prominent persons such as Motilal Nehru, Babu Ganga Prasad Verma, C. Y. Chintamani and Bishan Narayan Dar. He was the father of Anand Narain Mulla, an Urdu poetry, Urdu poet and Member of Parliament (India), Member of Parliament in independent India. United Provinces Of British India
The United Provinces of British India, more commonly known as the United Provinces, was a province of British India, which came into existence on 3 January 1921 as a result of the renaming of the ''United Provinces of Agra and Oudh''. It corresponded approximately to the combined regions of the present-day Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It ceased to exist on 1 April 1937 when it was renamed as the United Provinces. Lucknow became its capital some time after 1921. Nainital was the summer capital of the province.
