Jadrolinija is a Croatian sea shipping company. It is a state-owned company and its main mission is connecting Croatian islands to the mainland by operating regular passenger and cargo transport services. The company mainly operates car ferries on domestic routes along the Croatian coast, as well as international routes across the Adriatic Sea to Italy (to ports at Ancona and Bari). Jadrolinija currently operates a fleet of 55 vessels: it has three large ferries named ''Dubrovnik'', ''Marko Polo'', and ''Zadar'' which are used on long range and international routes, 38 smaller ferries used for local passenger service, ten catamarans and four conventional ships. The fleet's total carrying capacity is 4,504 vehicles and 30,310 passengers. Jadrolinija was founded in Rijeka on 20 January 1947 as a continuation of various smaller shipping companies which had operated along the Croatian coast since 1872. MF Biokovo
MV ''Biokovo'' is a ro-ro vehicle and passenger ferry owned and operated by Jadrolinija, the Croatian state-owned ferry company. She was built in July 2009 by the Brodosplit shipyard in Split, Croatia. As of June 2010 she serves on the Split— Supetar route. MV ''Biokovo'' is a Hull 515 class ferry, along with her twin, the MV ''Jadran'', which was also built at Brodosplit in May 2010. These two ferries were commissioned as part of Jadrolinija's fleet renewal program, which (as of June 2010) include a total of eight newly built ships since 2004. MF Bartol Kašić
MF ''Bartol Kašić'' is a ferry (named after the Croatian linguist Bartol Kašić), built in 1989, operated by Croatian state-owned company Jadrolinija, and navigating on local routes in Croatia. Capacity of the ship is 500 passengers, 54 cars. Maximum speed is 13 knots. Accidents In 2006, while docking to the port of Split, the ship hit the shore due to the failure of both engines, wherefore was unable to speed astern. The captain unsuccessfully tried to stop the ship by dropping both anchors. Few passengers were injured and few cars damaged. In October 2009, while docking to the port of Žalić, at the island of Silba, the ship hit the pier and the hull was punctured, but water did not penetrate inside, since the damage occurred above the waterline. In July 2009 the ship hit the shore at the same port. Brbinj
Brbinj is a small village on the northeast coast of the Croatian island of Dugi Otok, between the villages of Dragove and Savar. Its population is 76 (as of the 2011 census). It embraces two distinct bays, a four-fingered Jaz bay in the south and the Bura bay in the north. The last one became the main ferry port on the island, being connected to Zadar three times per day (Jadrolinija ferries), and thus shifting the village center from Jaz to Bura bay. A 1608 census recorded 129 inhabitants. A century and a half later, in 1754, Brbinj had 234 inhabitants. A local school, built in 1900, was since closed due to depopulation. Electricity was introduced in the village in 1964. As of early 21st century, agriculture and fishing - traditional means of subsistence for the local population - are limited in scope, and animal farming, common only decades ago, is rare. Mali Lošinj
Mali Lošinj ( it, Lussinpiccolo, vec, Lusinpicolo) is a town in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, on the island of Lošinj, in western Croatia. Porozina
Porozina is a small port town in Croatia, located on the northwest coast of Cres. It is connected by ferry to Brestova (Kršan municipality) on the Istria mainland. The old town is situated upon a hillock above the port, and in the last two decades a new holiday neighbourhood has been built.
