Jada Alberts
Jada Alberts is an Aboriginal Australian actor, playwright, screenwriter, director, artist and poet. Early life and education Alberts is from the Top End of Australia, of Larrakia, Yanuwa, Bardi and Wardaman descent. Their mother is Franchesca Cubillo. They attended Mary MacKillop College in the Adelaide suburb of Kensington from 1996 to 2001, and graduated from Adelaide Centre for the Arts in 2006. Career Alberts works in many mediums: they are an actor, musician, painter, poet, and playwright. They have also written for the screen. Stage Alberts has regularly acted on stage since at least 2005, when they performed in two productions as a third-year student at the Adelaide Centre for the Arts. One of these was ''King Lear''. Mystery Road (TV Series)
''Mystery Road'' is an Australian television crime mystery series whose first series screened on ABC TV from 3 June 2018. The series is a spin-off from Ivan Sen's feature films '' Mystery Road'' and ''Goldstone'', taking place in-between the two. Aboriginal Australian detective Jay Swan, played by Aaron Pedersen, is the main character and actor in both the films and in the first two TV series, each of six episodes. Series 1 was directed by Rachel Perkins. Swan is brought in to solve a murder, with the local police officer played by Judy Davis. In Series 2, directed by Warwick Thornton and Wayne Blair, which began airing on ABC on 19 April 2020, Swan is brought in to solve a murder in a different location, with the "local copper" this time played by Jada Alberts. King Lear
''King Lear'' is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It is based on the mythological Leir of Britain. King Lear, in preparation for his old age, divides his power and land between two of his daughters. He becomes destitute and insane and a proscribed crux of political machinations. The first known performance of any version of Shakespeare's play was on Saint Stephen's Day in 1606. Arena Theatre Company is an Australian theatre company and a long-running producers of Theatre for Young Audiences, Theatre For Young Audiences. Melbourne Workers Theatre (MWT) was an Australian theatre company based in Melbourne, Australia. The company was founded in 1987 by Patricia Cornelius, Steve Payne and Michael White. It specialised in producing work from a left-wing stance, seeking to create work that "articulates flaws in the mainstream perception of Australian culture and identity, contesting how Australians think about themselves as a nation and as a people". The Darwin Festival, founded as the Bougainvillea Festival in 1979 and named Festival of Darwin from 1996 to 2002, is an annual arts festival in Darwin, Northern Territory. It celebrates the multicultural aspects of the Northern Territory lifestyle. Windmill Theatre
The Windmill Theatre in Great Windmill Street, London, was a variety and revue theatre best known for its nude ''tableaux vivants'', which began in 1932 and lasted until its reversion to a cinema in 1964. Many prominent British comedians of the post-war years started their careers at the theatre. As the Palais de Luxe Great Windmill Street took its name from a windmill that stood there from the reign of King Charles II until the late 18th century. In 1909 a cinema, the Palais de Luxe, opened on the site. It stood on the corner of a block of buildings that included the Apollo and Lyric theatres, where Archer Street joined Great Windmill Street, just off Shaftesbury Avenue. Vitalstatistix, formerly Vitalstatistix National Women's Theatre, is a women's theatre company based in Port Adelaide, South Australia.
