Jacques Tichelaar
Jacques Tichelaar (born 2 January 1953) is a Dutch politician and former trade union leader and educator. He is a member of the Labour Party (Partij van de Arbeid). Since 1 May 2009 he had been the King's Commissioner (governor on behalf of the king) in the province of Drenthe. He resigned on 1 March 2017. Previously he was a teachers' trade union leader from 1994 to 2002 and an MP from 2002 to 2009. He acted as a Parliamentary group leader from 2007 to 2008. In 2002 he received an honorary doctorate in business administration at Kingston University. Biography In 1973 Tichelaar finished his havo (secondary school) and enrolled at the Pedagogische Academie (academy for primary school teachers) in Heerenveen. Educator
A teacher, also called a schoolteacher or formally an educator, is a person who helps students to acquire knowledge, competence, or virtue, via the practice of teaching. Christian Democratic Appeal
The Christian Democratic Appeal ( nl, Christen-Democratisch Appèl, ; CDA) is a Christian-democratic political party in the Netherlands. It was originally formed in 1977 from a confederation of the Catholic People's Party, the Anti-Revolutionary Party and the Christian Historical Union; it has participated in all but three cabinets since it became a unitary party. Health Minister Hugo de Jonge served as Leader of the Christian Democratic Appeal from July 2020 until his resignation the following December. Nebahat Albayrak
Nebahat Albayrak (born 10 April 1968) is a retired Turkish–Dutch politician of the Labour Party (PvdA) and jurist. She is a corporate director at Upstream International a division of Royal Dutch Shell since 5 November 2012. Biography Albayrak moved to the Netherlands in 1970. In 1993, Albayrak graduated from Leiden University in international and European law. As part of her degree, she also attended lectures in Ankara at Ankara University and the Institut d’Études Françaises, and in Paris at the Institut d’Études Politiques. She worked at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations from 1993 to 1998. From 1998 to 2007, she was a member of the Dutch House of Representatives. The Federation of Dutch Trade Unions ( nl, Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging, FNV) is a national trade union centre in the Netherlands. In addition to member unions, workers in many sectors can join the FNV directly. History The FNV was founded in 1976 from the merger of the Dutch Catholic Trade Union Federation (NKV) and the social-democratic Dutch Confederation of Trade Unions (NVV). The Protestant Christian National Trade Union Federation (CNV) originally also participated in the talks, but it refused to fully merge into a new union. The federation was founded because of declining membership, due to depillarisation and increasing political polarisation between left and right. The General Education Union ( nl, Algemene Onderwijsbond, AOb) is a trade union representing teachers, lecturers and support staff in education, in the Netherlands. The union was founded on 1 January 1997, when the General Union of Education Personnel merged with Dutch Association of Teachers. It affiliated to the Federation of Dutch Trade Unions. By 1998, it had 72,206 members, and in 2008, this had grown slightly, to 77,943. At the start of 2020, the union absorbed Vawo, a union for university researchers. The General Union of Education Personnel ( nl, Algemene Bond van Onderwijzend Personeel, ABOP) was a trade union representing workers in the education sector in the Netherlands. The union was founded in 1966, when the Dutch Teachers' Association merged with the Dutch Association of Industrial Education Teachers. ''Hoger algemeen voortgezet onderwijs'' (havo, meaning "higher general continued education" in Dutch) is a stream in the secondary educational system of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Suriname. It has five grades and is generally attended at ages of 12 to 17. It provides access to the hogeschool-level (polytechnic) of tertiary education. The first three years are the ''Basisvorming'' (literally "basis formation"). All pupils follow the same subjects: languages, mathematics, history, arts and sciences.
