Jacques Rougeau, Sr.
Jacques Rougeau Sr. (May 27, 1930 – July 1, 2019) was a Canadian professional wrestler. He was the father of wrestlers Jacques Rougeau, Armand Rougeau and Raymond Rougeau. Career Rougeau started wrestling in 1956 with his brother, Johnny Rougeau. He had feuds with Abdullah the Butcher, Alexis Smirnoff, Don Leo Jonathan and The Sheik. In 1984, Rougeau came out of semi-retirement to fight a series of matches in Quebec. Teaming with his three sons, Jacques, Armand and Raymond, the Rougeaus fought against many heels in the area, such as Pierre 'Mad Dog' Lefebvre, Frenchy Martin, Sailor White and Tarzan Tyler. Rougeau retired in 1986. Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. NWF Heavyweight Championship
The NWF Heavyweight Championship was a professional wrestling World championship used as part of the National Wrestling Federation and later New Japan Pro-Wrestling. History The NWF ( National Wrestling Federation) Heavyweight Championship was created by wrestling promoter Pedro Martinez for his NWF promotion in New York in 1970. The title was mainly defended in the New York/Eastern Canada area, until then-champion Johnny Powers took the belt with him on a tour of Japan with Tokyo Pro Wrestling. Rougeau Wrestling Family
The Rougeau wrestling family is a family of French Canadian professional wrestlers, with the first Rougeau member taking up wrestling in the 1940s. So far four generations of the family have been involved in professional wrestling starting with Eddie Auger, followed into the sport by his nephews Johnny and Jacques Rougeau Sr. in the 1950s. Johnny Powers (wrestler)
Johnny Powers (born Dennis Waters, March 20, 1943) is a Canadian retired professional wrestler. He competed in several North American and International promotions including National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), American Wrestling Association (AWA), Maple Leaf Wrestling, National Wrestling Federation, International Wrestling Association and the World Wide Wrestling Federation feuding with then WWWF World Heavyweight Champion Bruno Sammartino during the early 1960s NWA's Lou Thesz, Gene Kiniski and AWA's Verne Gagne. As a sports event promoter and television producer since 1967, he has presented over 3,500 live wrestling and sports events from Singapore to New York City to Trinidad.
