Jacques Lacombe
Jacques Lacombe, (born July 14, 1963 in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec) is a Canadian conductor. Lacombe began his musical learning with choral singing. He later trained as an organist, and continued his studies at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal and at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna. He was assistant conductor of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra from 1994 to 1998, and later its principal guest conductor from 2002 to 2006. He was chief conductor and music director of ''Les Grands Ballets Canadiens'' from 1990 to 2003. He became music director of the ''Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières'' (Trois-Rivières Symphony Orchestra) in 2006, and held the post through the close of the 2017-2018 season. In Europe, Lacombe was music director of the Philharmonie de Lorraine in Metz, France from 1998 to 2001. Cap-de-la-Madeleine is a former Types of municipalities in Quebec, city in Quebec, Canada at the confluence of the Saint-Maurice River and the St. Lawrence River. Hendrik Vestmann (born 30 April 1974) is an Estonian conductor. Life Born in Tartu, Vestmann studied choral direction from 1992 to 1996 at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn. He was subsequently employed as a conductor at the Vanemuine theatre and opera house in Tartu, southern Estonia. In 1997, he founded and conducted the orchestra of the Tallinn district of Nõmme (Estonian ''Nõmme Linnaorkester''). At the turn of the millennium, Vestmann went to Germany. Xian Zhang (), born in 1973 in Dandong, Liaoning) is a Chinese-American conductor. Born to musician parents, Zhang began to learn music as a child with her mother on a piano built by her father. She continued her music studies at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She began conducting studies at age 16, and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the conservatory in Beijing. Her first conducting appearance was at age 19 with the China National Opera Orchestra in a production of ''The Marriage of Figaro''. She served as conductor-in-residence of the China Opera House in Beijing, and conductor of the Jinfan Symphony Orchestra. Zhang moved to the United States in 1998. Neeme Järvi
Neeme Järvi (; born 7 June 1937) is an Estonian American conductor. Early life Järvi was born in Tallinn. He initially studied music there, and later in Leningrad at the Leningrad Conservatory under Yevgeny Mravinsky, and Nikolai Rabinovich, among others. Early in his career, he held posts with the Estonian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn. In 1971 he won first prize in the International Conductors Competition at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Järvi emigrated to the United States in 1980 with his family.
