Jacques Cornu
Jacques Cornu (born 15 May 1953) is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from Switzerland. His best year was in 1988 when he won two races and finished in third place in the 250cc world championship. Cornu won three Grand Prix races during his career. 1990 Japanese Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 1990 Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix was the first round of the 1990 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 23–25 March 1990 at the Suzuka Circuit. 500 cc race report Wayne Rainey's pole of 2:09.589 is the first sub-2:10 lap at Suzuka. Rainey gets the start of the new 4-column grid, followed by Mick Doohan, Eddie Lawson and the field. Rainey goes through the chicane with a sub-second gap, followed by Lawson, Doohan, Kevin Schwantz and Wayne Gardner. Rainey is opening a gap, but Schwantz moves into second and leads the chase. Entering the back straight, Schwantz looks behind him to see who's back there, but Lawson's proximity probably blocks the view. Perhaps Schwantz had a feeling something bad was about to happen. The Argentine Republic motorcycle Grand Prix is the Argentine round of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing championship. The Grand Prix returned in 2014 with a race at Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo. Previously, the event was held ten times at the Autódromo Oscar Alfredo Gálvez in the capital city of Buenos Aires between 1961 and 1999 and was known as the Argentine motorcycle Grand Prix. 1981 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 1981 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 33rd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary In the 500cc world championship, two Suzuki teams fought for the title with Marco Lucchinelli riding for Roberto Gallina's Italian Suzuki team and, Randy Mamola riding for the Heron Suzuki team backed by the UK Suzuki importer. Mamola started the season strongly with two victories and two second-place finishes to take the lead in the championship but then, Lucchinelli took command with four victories in the next five races to claim the world championship. Mamola finished in second place for the second year in a row. Barry Sheene would win the final race of his career with a win in Sweden while a young American named Freddie Spencer made his first foray into the world championships as a member of the Honda factory racing team, riding the four-stroke Honda NR500 up to fifth place at the British Grand Prix before it suffered a mechanical failure. Motul S.A. is a global French company which manufactures, develops and distributes lubricants for engines (motorcycles, cars and other vehicles) and for industry. History Founded in 1853 in New York, the Swan & Finch company started its activity in the sector of high quality lubricants. Czech Republic Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Czech Republic motorcycle Grand Prix was a motorcycling event that was part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. Before 1993, the race was known as the Czechoslovak motorcycle Grand Prix. Since 1965, the race was a part of world Grand Prix series (between 1982 and 1987 race was held as a part of European Grand Prix series only). Since 1987 the race was held on the newly built Brno Circuit, the historical track led through the streets of western parts of Brno and neighboring villages, such as Bosonohy and Žebětín. It was the most prestigious motor race in the country. Brno has also held the most motorcycle championship rounds in the sport's history after the TT Circuit Assen. The race was not included in the calendar after Brno city councillors announced that they would opt out for the season, citing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 1980 Belgian motorcycle Grand Prix was the sixth round of the 1980 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 4–6 July 1980 at the Circuit Zolder. This was the only time that a race was held in Zolder, after all the factory teams (with drivers such as Kenny Roberts, Franco Uncini, Graziano Rossi, Jack Middelburg and various others) retired due to the slippery and very dangerous conditions at Spa-Francorchamps after a resurfacing of the track.
