Jacob Timpano
Jacob Timpano (born 3 January 1986) in Wollongong, Australia) is a former Australian footballer and current head coach of Wollongong Wolves in the National Premier Leagues NSW. Club career Timpano previously played for the Wollongong Wolves in the National Soccer League. He is a central defender, and has represented Australia at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship and captained Australia in the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship as an Under-20 and Under-17 respectively. In the 2005-06 A-League season, Timpano was an essential part of Sydney FC championship-winning side - playing in 19 of the club's 24 games. However, in the 2006-07 A-League season, Timpano made only 2 appearances (1 start) due to persistent leg injuries which continued into the start of season 2007/08. Wollongong
Wollongong ( ), colloquially referred to as The Gong, is a city located in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. The National Soccer League (NSL) was the top-level soccer league in Australia, run by Soccer Australia and later the Australian Soccer Association. The NSL, the A-League's predecessor, spanned 28 seasons from its inception in 1977 until its demise in 2004, when it was succeeded by the A-League competition run by Football Federation Australia, the successor to the Australian Soccer Association. Football At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's football tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics was held in Beijing and four other cities in the People's Republic of China from 7 to 23 August. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to enter their men's under-23 teams in regional qualifying competitions, from which 15 teams, plus the host nation, reached the final tournament. Men's teams were allowed to augment their squads with up to three players over the age of 23. For these Games, the men competed in a 16-team tournament. Preliminary matches commenced on 7 August, the day before the Games' opening ceremony. The teams were grouped into four pools of four teams each for a round-robin preliminary round. The top two teams in each pool advanced to an eight-team single-elimination bracket. Wade Oostendorp (born 20 April 1988) is an Australian footballer who plays for Dapto Dandaloo Fury in the Illawarra Premier League. Club career Oostendorp started his career at the Australian Institute of Sport and was soon signed by new A-League club Sydney FC. Alvin Ceccoli (; born 5 August 1974) is an Australian footballer who played for three A-League clubs (Sydney FC, Central Coast Mariners and Adelaide United) and was capped internationally for Australia. Club career Alvin Ceccoli is of Sammarinese heritage. Alvin started his National Soccer League (NSL) career at Wollongong Wolves in 1995 as a 21-year-old. Noel Spencer
Noel Spencer (born 26 July 1977 in Wollongong, Australia) is a former Australian football (soccer) player who coaches Dapto Dandaloo Fury in the Illawarra Premier League. Club career NSL Noel played for his hometown of Wollongong from 1996 to 2000 and was part of Wollongong Wolves championship-winning team of the 1999/2000 season. After the championship win Noel left for Northern Spirit which he played for and later captained until the NSL became defunct. During the period between the end of the NSL competition and the beginning of the A-League he played a season for Parramatta Eagles. A-League Men (known as the Isuzu UTE A-League for sponsorship reasons) is the highest-level professional men's soccer league in Australia and New Zealand. At the top of the Australian league system, it is the country's premier men's competition for the sport. Beau Busch (born 16 March 1984) is an Australian former footballer and, since July 2020, the co-Chief Executive of Professional Footballers Australia (PFA), alongside Kate Gill.
