Jacob Matlala
Jacob "Baby Jake" Matlala (1 August 1962 – 7 December 2013) was a South African boxer and junior flyweight champion from Meadowlands, Johannesburg. He won 4 world championship titles. In 2004, Matlala was voted #72 in the " 100 Greatest South Africans" poll organized by SABC. Death Jacob Matlala died on 7 December 2013, at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. The former World Boxing Organisation, World Boxing Union (WBU) and International Boxing Association flyweight world champion had been admitted to hospital on numerous occasions over the past few years with complications related to pneumonia. Alberto Jiménez (boxer)
Alberto Jiménez (born 8 April 1969) is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1988 to 2000. He held the WBO flyweight title from 1995 to 1996, making six title defences. Professional career In June 1991, Alberto won the Mexican National flyweight title by beating veteran Gonzalo Villalobos. Light flyweight, also known as junior flyweight or super strawweight, is a weight class in boxing. Professional boxing The weight limit at light flyweight in professional boxing is 108 pounds (49 kilograms). When New York legalized boxing in 1920, the law stipulated a "junior flyweight" class, with a weight limit of 99 pounds. When the National Boxing Association was formed in 1921, it also recognized this weight class. However, on January 19, 1922, the NBA decided to withdraw recognition of the junior flyweight division. On December 31, 1929, the New York State Athletic Commission also abolished the junior flyweight class. No champion had been crowned in this division prior to its abolition. Netrnoi Sor Vorasingh ( th, เนตรน้อย ส.วรสิงห์; April 22, 1959, in Bua Yai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province – December 3, 1982 in Phang Khon District, Sakon Nakhon Province) was a Thai world boxing champion. Pascual Pérez (boxer)
Pascual Nicolás Pérez (May 4, 1926 – January 22, 1977) was an Argentine flyweight boxer. Pérez was born in Tupungato in the Mendoza Province of Argentina, he went on to make history by becoming Argentina's first world boxing champion. Pérez usually did poor at the ticket gates in Argentina after he became world champion, forcing him to defend his world title on the road many times and to become known as a world-traveling champion. His first international success was a gold medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics in United Kingdom. He and Delfo Cabrera were the only two Argentinians to be an Olympic gold medalists in the London Olympics of 1948. Perez reigned as World Champion from 1954 to 1960. As an amateur he fought 125 bouts.
