Jacob Levin (chess Player)
Jacob Levin (February 18, 1904 – June 17, 1992) was an American chess master. He reached the best results of his career in Ventnor City. He tied for 2nd–3rd in 1939 (Milton Hanauer won), was a winner in 1941, took second behind Daniel Yanofsky in 1942, tied for 5th–7th in 1943, and won again in 1944. He tied for 8–9th at New York 1942 (US Chess Championship, Samuel Reshevsky and Isaac Kashdan won), and took 4th at New York 1946 (US-ch, Reshevsky won). Levin was a member of the U.S. reserve team in the famous United States vs. the Soviet Union radio match in September 1945. Fabiano Caruana
Fabiano Luigi Caruana (born July 30, 1992) is an American chess grandmaster. A chess prodigy, Caruana became a grandmaster at the age of 14 years, 11 months, and 20 days—the youngest grandmaster in the history of both Italy and the United States at the time. Born in Miami to Italian parents, Caruana grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn. He played for the United States until 2005, when he transferred his national federation affiliation to Italy. He earned his grandmaster title in 2007, and in the same year won his first Italian Chess Championship, a feat he repeated in 2008, 2010, and 2011. He won the Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting in 2012, 2014, and 2015. Caruana also won the Sinquefield Cup 2014, recording a 3098 performance rating, the highest in history at the top level, and improving his rating to 2844, becoming the third-highest rated player in history. Sven Magnus Øen Carlsen (born 30 November 1990) is a Norwegian chess grandmaster who is the reigning five-time World Chess Champion. He is also a three-time World Rapid Chess Champion and five-time World Blitz Chess Champion. Milton Loeb Hanauer (5 August 1908 – 16 April 1988) was a public school principal, chess master and Marshall Chess Club official. Born in Harrison, New York, He is best known for running the New York school competition that became known as the Hanauer League and for writing the book '' Chess Made Simple''. His playing career is not well known, but he played on the silver medal winning US team in the 2nd Chess Olympiad at The Hague 1928, he qualified for four US Championships, and he won games from Reuben Fine and Isaac Kashdan.
