Jacob Gestman Geradts
Jacob (or Jaap) Gestman Geradts (born 9 December 1951, The Hague) is a Dutch pin up artist painter. Biography Geradts studied electronics at the Delft Technical University where he received his master's degree in 1977. He then became a professor on measurement and control systems as well as navigation and communication equipment from 1977 to 1987. He published hundreds of articles and several technical books. In the late 1980s, just before moving to the south of France, he began drawing pin ups. First influenced by Alphonse Mucha, he soon modified his style in the way of the great pin up artists of the 1950s and 1960s, like Alberto Vargas, Aslan and George Petty. Jacob Gestman Geradts Trapeze
Jacob (; ; ar, يَعْقُوب, Yaʿqūb; gr, Ἰακώβ, Iakṓb), later given the name Israel, is regarded as a patriarch of the Israelites and is an important figure in Abrahamic religions, such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. George Petty
George Brown Petty IV (April 27, 1894 – July 21, 1975) was an American pin-up artist. His pin-up art appeared primarily in '' Esquire'' and Fawcett Publications's ''True'' but was also in calendars marketed by ''Esquire'', ''True'' and Ridgid Tool Company. Petty's ''Esquire'' gatefolds originated and popularized the magazine device of centerfold spreads. Reproductions of his work, known as "Petty Girls," were widely rendered by military artists as nose art decorating warplanes during the Second World War, including the '' Memphis Belle.'' Polypropylene (PP), also known as polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications. It is produced via chain-growth polymerization from the monomer propylene. An airbrush is a small, air-operated tool that atomizes and sprays various media, most often paint but also ink and dye, and foundation. Spray painting developed from the airbrush and is considered to employ a type of airbrush. Aslan (born Alain Gourdon), (23 May 1930; Bordeaux, France – 11 February 2014; Sainte-Adèle, Quebec, Canada) was a French painter, sculptor and pin-up artist. Joaquin Alberto Vargas y Chávez (9 February 1896 – 30 December 1982) was a Peruvian-American painter of pin-up girls. He is often considered one of the most famous of the pin-up artists. Numerous Vargas paintings have sold and continue to sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Life and career Born in Arequipa, Peru, he was the son of noted Peruvian photographer Max T. Vargas. Alberto Vargas moved to the United States in 1916 after studying art in Europe, particularly in Zurich and Geneva, prior to World War I. While he was in Europe he came upon the French magazine '' La Vie Parisienne,'' with a cover by Raphael Kirchner, which he said was a great influence on his work.
