Jacksonville High School (Arkansas)
Jacksonville High School (JHS) is a secondary public school located in Jacksonville, Arkansas for students in grades nine through twelve. JHS serves students in the Jacksonville and McAlmont communities and is administered by the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District (JNPSD). The school was previously in the Pulaski County Special School District. In 2007, Jacksonville requested to become separated from the PCSSD and form its own school district, but a final decision had not been made on that request. History On May 18, 1907, the Jacksonville Special School District was formed and remained in existence until 1927 when the Pulaski County Special School District consolidated the county's school districts except North Little Rock and Little Rock school districts. Jacksonville, Arkansas
Jacksonville is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States, and a suburb of Little Rock. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 28,364. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock– Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area with 729,135 people as of 2014. The city is named for Nicholas Jackson, a landowner who deeded the land for the railroad right-of-way to the Cairo & Fulton Railroad in 1870. The community evolved from the settlement surrounding the railroad depot, eventually incorporating in 1941. In 1941, construction began on the Arkansas Ordnance Plant (AOP), which served as the primary facility for the development of fuses and detonators for World War II. Robert Thomas (fullback)
Robert Lee Thomas, IV (born December 1, 1974) is a former American football fullback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Henderson State University. Early years Thomas graduated from Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Arkansas, after playing three seasons of football. Back then because of his small size, he played different positions ( fullback, tight end, linebacker, defensive end, punter and quarterback). He attended college at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, where he became the starting middle linebacker. is a Japanese model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2015. She represented Japan at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant and placed in the top 10. She was the first ''hāfu'' (mixed) woman to be Miss Japan. Clinton Myles McDonald (born January 6, 1987) is a former American football defensive end. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Daniel Oliver Hampton (born September 19, 1957) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive lineman for twelve seasons with the Chicago Bears from 1979 to 1990 in the National Football League (NFL).
