Jack Wilkshire
John W. Wilkshire (20 July 1931 – 2022) was an English professional golfer. He won the Northern Professional Championship in 1961 and 1965 and was runner-up in the 1969 Portuguese Open. He played in the Open Championship 11 times, making the cut four times. Golf career Wilkshire never won a major tournament, although he was runner-up in the 1969 Portuguese Open behind Ramón Sota. He won the Northern Professional Championship in 1961 and 1965 and was a runner-up in 1955 and 1957. He was runner-up in the 1965 Leeds Cup. The Legends Tour is the current branding of the European Senior Tour, a professional tour for male golfers aged 50 and over, run by the PGA European Tour. The tour was branded as the Staysure Tour for the 2018 and 2019 seasons after UK-based insurance company Staysure became the first-ever title sponsors of the senior tour in December 2017. Leeds Cup
The Leeds Cup is a golf tournament that has been played annually in northern England since 1902. The event is organised by the north region of the Professional Golfers' Association. It is the oldest trophy in professional golf that is still played for. The Tooting Bec Cup is older, having been first played for in 1901, but is no longer contested. The Leeds Challenge Cup was first contested in May 1902 at Leeds Golf Club.
