Jack Tingle
Robert Jackson "Jack" Tingle (December 30, 1924 – September 22, 1958) was an American professional basketball player. He was the first player from Trimble County, Kentucky to go to the University of Kentucky on a scholarship for basketball. He was one of only seven UK players to make the all SEC team four years in a row. After graduation, he played two seasons in the NBA for the Washington Capitols and Minneapolis Lakers. Small Forward
The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. They are strategic and are often relied upon to score, defend, create open lanes, and rebound for their team. The small forward is considered to be perhaps the most versatile of the five main basketball positions as they contribute offensively and defensively. Games played (GP) is a statistic used in team sports to indicate the total number of games in which a player has participated (in any capacity); the statistic is generally applied irrespective of whatever portion of the game is contested. In basketball, free throws or foul shots are unopposed attempts to score points by shooting from behind the free-throw line (informally known as the foul line or the charity stripe), a line situated at the end of the Key (basketball), restricted area. Free throws are generally awarded after a Personal foul (basketball), foul on the shooter by the opposing team, analogous to penalty shots in other team sports.
