Jack Payne (Australian Rules Footballer)
Jack Parker Payne (born 15 October 1999) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the with the 54th draft pick in the 2017 AFL draft. Early life Payne was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast where he attended St Andrews Anglican College throughout his upbringing. He played junior football for Noosa AFC in the local Sunshine Coast AFL juniors league. At the age of 13, Payne was selected to join the Brisbane Lions Academy after a talent scout caught notice of him playing school football. He was also originally a promising discus thrower, representing Australia at the Oceanic Games. However, at the age of 17 he gave up this opportunity to pursue a career in the AFL instead. In 2017, Payne represented the Allies in the AFL Under 18 Championships, where he played two games and averaged 9.5 disposals per match. John Wesley Vivian Payne (22 August 1899 – 4 December 1969) was a British dance music bandleader who established his reputation during the British dance band era of the 1930s. Early life and career Payne was born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England, the only son of a music publisher's warehouse manager. While serving in the Royal Flying Corps, he played the piano in amateur dance bands. After the RFC became the Royal Air Force towards the end of World War I, Payne led dance bands for the troops. Prior to joining the Royal Air Force, he was part of "The Allies" concert party. This voluntary group performed to wounded soldiers convalescing around Birmingham. He played with visiting American jazz bands at the Birmingham Palais during the early 1920s, including the Southern Rag-a-Jazz Orchestra in 1922, before moving to London in 1925. Jack Stephen Payne (born 5 December 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for National League side Boreham Wood. Career Gillingham He made his debut for Gillingham in a League Two match against Chester City on 25 October 2008, and signed an 18-month professional contract three months later. He was voted Young Player of the Year for Gillingham at the end of the 2008–09 season. He made his first senior start for the club on 8 August 2009 in a 5–0 League One victory over Swindon Town. Jack Payne (born 25 October 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Charlton Athletic. He made his professional debut for Southend United in August 2013. After three seasons at Southend he joined Huddersfield Town in June 2016. Payne had loan spells at Oxford United, Blackburn Rovers and Bradford City, before signing for Lincoln City in July 2019. He joined Swindon Town in August 2020, spending two seasons at the Wiltshire club before signing for Charlton Athletic in July 2022. Jack Payne (born 13 September 1994) is an Australian rugby union player. Now retired, he finished his career playing for Newcastle Falcons in the English Premiership Rugby. Payne previously played for the Scarlets regional team in Wales and is Welsh qualified. He also previously represented the Australia U20s rugby team. He started his career at flaker / second row. and moved to tighthead prop in 2016, where he eventually finished his career.
