Jack Lindwall
Jack Lindwall (1918-2000) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1930s and 1940s. A prolific try-scoring three-quarter back, he played his entire New South Wales Rugby Football League career with the St. George club. He is also the older brother of Australian Cricket Hall of Fame inaugural inductee and fellow rugby league player, Ray Lindwall. Playing career At St. George, Lindwall set records for both most tries and points in a match. He scored four or more tries in a match on four occasions, including six tries in a match against Manly-Warringah in 1947 where he also kicked nine goals, scoring an equal club record of 36 points in a match. He also played in St. George's Grand Final teams of 1942 and 1946 and retired as the club's all-time top try-scorer, a record not surpassed until the 1960s. Mascot, New South Wales
Mascot is a suburb in the Inner-South of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Mascot is located 7 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is one of the administrative centres of the Bayside Council. A small part of Mascot is located in the Inner West Council. Mascot is on the north-west side of Botany Bay and contains Sydney Airport. History The first land grants in the area were made in 1835, with market gardening being the main land use. Subdivision followed the construction of Botany Road in 1875 and a municipality known as North Botany was formed in 1888. A racecourse operated in this area in 1904 on land that was formerly owned by the Australian Golf Club. The race course was known as Ascot, named after its famous counterpart in England. Sydney Roosters
The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League premiership, New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles
The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Sydney's Northern Beaches. The team colours are maroon and white, while their namesake and logo is the sea eagle. They compete in Australia's premier rugby league competition, the National Rugby League (NRL). The club debuted in the 1947 New South Wales Rugby Football League season and currently host the majority of their home games from Brookvale Oval in Brookvale, while training at the New South Wales Academy of Sport in Narrabeen. The club has competed in either the NSWRL, ARL, or NRL competitions in all respective seasons from 1947 until 1999.
