Jack Gallagher (born August 15, 1953) is an American comedian, actor, and writer with a recurring role on the HBO sitcom ''Curb Your Enthusiasm''. As a television host, he has won Emmy Awards for his work on the PBS series ''Money Moves'', ''Off-Limits'', and ''Kids, Cash and Common Sense.'' He was the host of the California Lottery's ''The Big Spin'' game show from 1996 to 1998. Not to be confused with the comedian who goes by the single name Gallagher, nor the Dave Chappelle Gallagher parody character, Black Gallagher, Jack Gallagher does not use props in his comedy. Jack Gallagher (born June 27, 1947) is an American composer and college professor. His compositions include orchestral, chamber, piano and choral works. He has written two symphonies, both of which have been recorded. Life and career Gallagher was born in Brooklyn, New York to John J. and Ethel L. Schaffeld Gallagher and raised, until age six, in Glendale, Queens, New York. In 1953, he moved with his family to Plainview, New York, where he studied music in the public schools and, privately, accordion and trumpet. He earned the Bachelor of Arts degree ''cum laude'' from Hofstra University and Master of Fine Arts and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Cornell University. John Andrew Gallagher (1 April 1919 – 5 March 1980), known as Jack Gallagher, was an historian of the British Empire who between 1963 and 1970 held the Beit Professorship of Commonwealth History at the University of Oxford and from 1971 until his death was the Vere Harmsworth Professor of Imperial and Naval History at the University of Cambridge. Early life and career Gallagher was born on 1 April 1919. After schooling at the Birkenhead Institute, he proceeded to Trinity College, Cambridge, as a history scholar and with the outbreak of the Second World War he joined the Royal Tank Regiment, eventually serving in Italy, Greece, and North Africa. John Edward Patrick Gallagher, OC (16 July 1916 – 16 December 1998) was a Canadian oilman who from 1950 to 1983 was the head of Dome Petroleum. Gallagher is best remembered for leading extensive explorations in the Beaufort Sea in the late 1970s. Biography Early years and university Jack Gallagher was born in Winnipeg on 16 July 1916. In 1933 he graduated from St. John's High School. In the fall of 1933 Gallagher entered the University of Manitoba, studying engineering. Fearful about his prospects of getting a job in construction during the Great Depression, he later transferred to studying geology. Oliver Westfield Claffey, better known by the ring name Jack Gallagher, is an English professional wrestler and mixed martial artist. He is best known for his time in WWE, where he performed on the NXT and 205 Live brands, mostly under the ring name Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Claffey was released from WWE in June 2020. On January 25, 2022, BKFC announced Jack has signed a deal to fight for the organisation, making his debut on May 6th at BKFC 25. He is currently 1-0-0 (1 KO) in the organisation.
