Edwin Horace "Jack" Ellis is a New Zealand rugby player who played in the rugby league and represented New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand. Playing career Ellis played in the Canterbury Rugby League competition and represented Canterbury rugby league team, Canterbury in 1924. John Ellis (25 January 1908 – 20 January 1994) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Bristol Rovers, Hull City and Wolverhampton Wanderers as a goalkeeper. In 1936, when Luton Town's Joe Payne set a Football League record by scoring 10 goals in a 12–0 win over Bristol Rovers, Ellis was the opposition goalkeeper. He later scouted for Leeds United. Jack Ellis (rugby Union)
Jack Ellis (23 October 1912 – 27 November 2007) was an England international rugby union player. At the time of his death it was reported that he was the oldest living England international rugby player, although it was later discovered this was incorrect. Rugby career He played in only one official England game a 9-6 win against Scotland during the 1938/39 season. Official international games were not played during the Second World War but he played in 10 Red Cross Service Internationals including a joint England/Wales team that beat a joint Scotland/Ireland team 17-3 in December 1939. He also played five times for the Barbarians and Yorkshire. At club level he played for Wakefield RFC making his debut during the 1931/32 season, playing 106 games and scoring 37 tries. John Raymond (Jack) Ellis (31 October 1929 – 1 December 1994) was a Canadian politician. He served a term as Mayor of Belleville, Ontario from 1964 to 1967. As a Progressive Conservative, he served five terms as a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons representing the Ontario electoral districts of Hastings and Prince Edward—Hastings. John Stuart Ellis (born 4 June 1955) is a British theatre and television actor from London, best known for his portrayal of villainous prison officer Jim Fenner in the TV series '' Bad Girls''. He has also appeared in ITV soap ''Coronation Street'' as Bookmaker Harry Mason. He and his former wife Christine Kavanagh, from whom he is now divorced, have two children, Theo and Alice. Jack Ellis (born 1978) is an Australian writer, actor, singer, composer and family mediator. Biography Ellis was born in Sydney to writer parents Bob Ellis and Anne Brooksbank. During his childhood and teens he worked as an actor. He went on to study classical composition at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, then spent a year studying at the Royal Conservatorium in The Hague on scholarship. He taught English while living in Cambodia, then moved back to Australia and did a Master’s of Dispute Resolution at the University of Technology Sydney. He has also completed a Juris Doctor in law. He works as a family mediator, teaches mediation and dispute resolution, and lives with his wife and son in Sydney.
