Jack Edwards (sportscaster)
Jack Edwards (born 1957) is an American sportscaster and television play-by-play commentator for the Boston Bruins on NESN. He previously worked for ESPN from 1991 to 2003 as an anchor for their sports news program '' SportsCenter'' as well as a play-by-play commentator for their NHL, MLS, Little League Baseball, and 2002 FIFA World Cup broadcasts. He also provided commentary for the Konami game ''MLS Extra Time 2002''. Broadcasting career Early career Edwards started as a play-by-play announcer for the University of New Hampshire hockey team. He then moved on to play-by-play and sports anchor positions at WGIR radio and WMUR-TV in Manchester, New Hampshire. During the early 1980s, he worked as a talk radio host for WRKO in Boston and as a weekend anchor at WJAR-TV in Providence. He then moved to a sports reporter position at WCVB-TV in Boston. The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champion team. WGIR (610 Hertz, kHz "News Radio 610") is a commercial radio, commercial AM radio, AM radio station in Manchester, New Hampshire with a Talk radio, news/talk radio format. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. WGIR's radio studio, studios and offices are on Foundry Street in Manchester.
