Jack Drees
John Henry Drees (February 8, 1917 – July 27, 1988) was an American sportscaster who worked for ABC and CBS, as well as various stations in Chicago. Early life and career Drees was born on February 8, 1917 in Chicago. He attended Austin High School and the University of Iowa, where he was an all-Big Ten center on the Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team. After graduating, he went to work for WJJD in Chicago as a secondary baseball play-by-play announcer to John Harrington. His first day on the air was May 23, 1938. In addition to baseball, Drees also called National Football League games and horse races from Sportsman's Park for WJJD and sister station WIND. Although he had never seen a horse race prior to calling one, Drees became "the most accurate and respected horse race announcer in the country" according to Jack Brickhouse. Floyd Patterson
Floyd Patterson (January 4, 1935 – May 11, 2006) was an American professional boxer who competed from 1952 to 1972, and twice reigned as the world heavyweight champion between 1956 and 1962. At the age of 21, he became the youngest boxer in history to win the title, and was also the first heavyweight to regain the title after losing it. As an amateur, he won a gold medal in the middleweight division at the 1952 Summer Olympics. In 1956 and 1960, Patterson was voted Fighter of the Year by ''The Ring'' magazine and the Boxing Writers Association of America. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991. Billy Pierce
Walter William Pierce (April 2, 1927 – July 31, 2015) was an American starting pitcher in Major League Baseball between 1945 and 1964 who played most of his career for the Chicago White Sox. He was the team's star pitcher in the decade from 1952 to 1961, when they posted the third best record in the major leagues, and received the Sporting News Pitcher of the Year Award for the American League (AL) in and after being runner-up in both 1953 and 1955. Dave Martin (sportscaster)
Dave Martin is a former American sportscaster who spent seven seasons as a play-by-play announcer in Major League Baseball. Career Martin called Chicago White Sox games on WFLD in 1968. He spent the next three seasons on WJW-TV calling Cleveland Indians games before being replaced by Rocky Colavito in 1972. Martin began the 1972 season without a broadcasting job; however, in June he replaced the ailing John MacLean on WHDH radio in Boston, calling Boston Red Sox games with Ned Martin (no relation). Martin also called the first season of New England Whalers hockey for WHDH. His final major announcing job was with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1980.
