Jack Brennan (born as Gottlieb Doering) was an American professional baseball catcher in the late 19th century. In his five-year career he played with the St. Louis Maroons, Kansas City Cowboys of the American Association, Philadelphia Athletics of the AA, and the Cleveland Infants. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher.
