The J Awards of 2020 were the sixteenth annual J Awards, established by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's youth-focused radio station Triple J. The eligibility period for releases took place between November 2019 and October 2020. The winners were announced live on Triple J on 19 November 2020, with Lime Cordiale receiving the Australian Album of the Year Award for their album '' 14 Steps to a Better You'', Archie Roach receiving the Double J Artist of the Year Award, Joey Hunter and Tasman Keith receiving the Australian Video of the Year Award for "Billy Bad Again", JK-47 Jacob Paulson (born 1997/1998), known professionally as JK-47, is an Indigenous Australian rapper, musician, and activist from Tweed Heads South, New South Wales. DMA's
DMA'S (stylised in all caps) are an Australian three-piece rock band formed in 2012 in Sydney. The band is composed of Tommy O'Dell, Matt Mason, and Johnny Took. They gained popularity for their debut single " Delete" and for their self-titled EP released in 2014. The band's moniker - DMA'S - comes from their former name, "The Dirty MA's". History Johnny Took, Matthew Mason and Tommy O'Dell began playing music together "for about two years" before DMA'S formed. In February 2014, DMA'S were signed to I OH YOU and released their debut single " Delete", which peaked at number 88 on the ARIA Charts. Their self-titled EP was released on 28 March 2014. ''F*ck Love'' (stylised in all caps) is the debut mixtape by Australian rapper and singer the Kid Laroi. It was released on 24 July 2020 by Grade A Productions and Columbia Records. Production was handled by twenty-one record producers over the course of the mixtape's four releases, including Benny Blanco, Bobby Raps, Cashmere Cat and Taz Taylor. The original tracklist features guest appearances from Lil Mosey, Corbin Smidzik, and the late Juice Wrld. According to a description by Apple Music, the record focuses on "...the messy breakdown of a destructive relationship that didn't sound too great to start with." Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard (born 17 August 2003), known professionally as the Kid Laroi (stylised as the Kid LAROI), is an Australian rapper, singer and songwriter. He originally gained recognition from his association and friendship with American rapper Juice Wrld while he was on tour in Australia. The Slow Rush
''The Slow Rush'' is the fourth studio album by Australian musical project Tame Impala, released on 14 February 2020. It follows the 2015 album ''Currents'' and the 2019 singles "Patience" and " Borderline", with the latter serving as the first single from the album. Rooted in psychedelic disco music, the album was positively received by critics and reached the top 10 on many record charts around the world, debuting atop the charts in three countries and as well as on the US Alternative and Rock charts. Tame Impala is the psychedelic music project of Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker. In the recording studio, Parker writes, records, performs, and produces all of the project's music. As a touring act, Tame Impala consists of Parker (guitar, vocals), Dominic Simper (guitar, synthesiser), Jay Watson (synthesiser, vocals, guitar), Cam Avery (bass guitar, vocals), and Julien Barbagallo (drums, vocals). ''Nyaaringu'' is the debut studio album by Australian singer and songwriter Miiesha, released digitally on 29 May 2020. Following its physical release in August 2020, the album peaked at number 28 on the ARIA charts. Miiesha
Miiesha is an Australian singer-songwriter from the Aboriginal community of Woorabinda, Queensland. She was the recipient of New Talent of the Year at the 2020 National Indigenous Music Awards and won the ARIA Award for Best Soul/R&B Release at the 2020 ARIA Music Awards.
