Estonian ( ) is a Finnic language, written in the Latin script. It is the official language of Estonia and one of the official languages of the European Union, spoken natively by about 1.1 million people; 922,000 people in Estonia and 160,000 outside Estonia. Jüri Okas
Jüri Okas (born 26 August 1950 in Tallinn) is a notable Estonian architect, installation artist and printmaker. From 1957 to 1968 Jüri Okas studied in the 46th Secondary School of Tallinn (today's Pelgulinna Gymnasium of Tallinn). From 1968 to 1970 he studied in the Tallinn Polytechnic Institute (today's Tallinn Technical University). From 1970 Jüri Okas studied in the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (today's Estonian Academy of Arts) in the department of architecture. He graduated from the institute in 1974. From 1974 to 1989 Jüri Okas worked in the design bureau EKE Projekt. From 1989 he has worked in the architectural bureau Okas&Lõoke OÜ. Jüri Nael
Jüri Nael (born 9 July 1975) is an Estonian choreographer, movement director, professor of contemporary performance and theatre pedagogue. Nael was born and raised in Viljandi. He is 1998 graduate of Viljandi Culture Academy, having majored in choreography. Between 2001 and 2005, he taught stage movement and dance and was a lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. From 2006 until 2011, he was a physical theatre associate professor with the academy, and since 2016, leading professor of contemporary performance. Juri Lotman (russian: Ю́рий Миха́йлович Ло́тман; 28 February 1922 – 28 October 1993) was a prominent Russian-Estonian literary scholar, semiotician, and historian of Russian culture, who worked at the University of Tartu. Jüri Lossmann
Jüri Lossmann ( – 1 May 1984) was an Estonian long distance runner. He finished second in the marathon at the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp, at 2:32:48.6, trailing Hannes Kolehmainen by 13 seconds, but beating the third-placed Valerio Arri by almost 4 minutes. At the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris he was the flag bearer for Estonia and finished tenth in the marathon. Biography Lossmann started as a football player for ''Merkur'' club before changing to athletics. He was wounded in World War I, but recovered and in 1916 won a marathon race in Tallinn and the Russian Championships in the 5000 m. Jüri Lina
Jüri Lina (born on 13 October 1949 in Tartu) is an Estonian journalist, writer, paranormal investigator, music producer, radio host, film director and ufologist. In 1960s and 1970s he published many works (articles, reviews, translations) which were anti-Soviet. Due to discord with Soviet powers, in 1979 he was expelled from Estonia by Soviet authorities.
